Chapter 18

"Hey, angel. Good morning " Chris greeted and waved me to come over and sit with them. "Come, sit here" he pointed to the chair next to Adonis.

"Good morning Alpha Adonis and good morning beta Christopher" I replied shyly, tucking a hair which had fallen onto my face behind my ear. I took a seat beside Adonis while Laila came and served me my food and coffee.

"Good morning. How was your sleep?" Adonis asked me, his voice a bit of playfulness.

"It was go-good" suddenly making my face and neck flushed.

"Am I missing something? " Chris asked alternating between me and Adonis with narrowed eyes.

I digged into my food avoiding any further elaboration. Where as Adonis gave a rich laugh to his dumbstruck look and question.

"So yes, there's definitely something going on.." chris said. When we both didn't say anything he spoke " fine I'll find it out myself and please call me Chris," he feigned being hurt by keeping his hand on his chest."you make me feel old by calling Christopher,"

I laughed softly.

"So how's Sam?" He asked out of blue "I didn't see her much recently"

"She's doing good, a little off though" I said carefully trying to make him understand that he needs to be there for her "as she is going through a lot at the moment"

He nodded his head, then he became silent and thoughtful as if trying to understand my each words "I'm out anyways, duty call" he winked at me suddenly shaking off the topic and smirked "have a nice journey both of you and enjoy."

When chris left I peeked a glance at Adonis who was watching me the whole time, I could feel his stare when I was having the conversation with chris.

" what's this?" He asked looking at my assignment which was kept on the table next to me.

"It's my school work" I said. He took it and opened and looked at them. Meanwhile I fully turned towards him and watched him, he wore a black shirt nicely fitting onto him making his biceps prominent when he turned the pages and wore light blue jeans, his hair was neatly gelled and his clean shaved face made his jaw sharper. His brows where furrowed due to concentration. The man of my dreams, my hands itched to touch him and run my fingers in that silky thick mane of his.

"Mm.. maths.." he murmured.

"Are you loving what you are doing?" He asked me with a husky voice which made my stomach flutter. His eyes shot to my cloudy ones. He moved closer to me and tucked a hair behind my ears while lightly gracing them. "Why don't you finish that" he pointed out to my food with his eyes and gave me a warm smile, one which I have grown fond of.

"Ye-s Alpha" I replied embarrassed at my state of mind. I shifted my gaze from him to my food, suddenly interested in what was served to me a while ago.

But my face was made to look back at his immediately "you don't have to be embarrassed love," he said and left my chin. I shook my head up and down, implying yes.

BAANG!!! There was a big noise like something fell down which shook me from my seat, Both of our head shot to the place from where the sound came.

We saw nothing there but when I looked at Adonis he had his jaw clenched. " what's wrong Alpha?"

" nothing for you to worry" he said "Alpha..huh? and what's with the name game, I thought we were past that, call me nis" he gave me a half sided sad smile, which confused me.

"Nis..? Is that your nickname or something…" I giggled.

"Why.. I thought it was kind of your taste.." he answered.

My eyes widened "no, I mean yes… it is nice but you look so intimidating at times that this name looks…" I was thinking for the right choice of words.

"Funny?" He asked.

"What no.." I laughed "actually this name sounds like you are a soft hearted person.."

"I might was?" He said which made me raise my brows…

"Really? You sound like you are not so sure about that.." I replied.

He chuckled "You really like that name...right" I asked smiling.

"Mm.. Someone used to call me by that name.." He smiled Fondly "actually someone gave me that name". pang!! A wave of jealousy hit me.

"Who?" I tried asking without giving up my emotion.

"Someone very close to my heart.." my smile dropped instantly When he said that, but I forced a smile.

He looked away " I'll be in the sitting room, come when you are finished."

When he walked away, all I wished for was to know who that person was.

Once I finished my breakfast, I thanked laila and went to look for Adonis. As I reached the sitting room he was reading the newspaper. The sitting room was large with brown leathered sofas lining three sides of the room to the left. The wall paint was ivory with large paintings worth millions and a big double door was situated at the centre which lead to outside and other side right to the door had one seat sofas with teapoys for official meetings or evening casual gatherings. Opposite to the main door was double stairs leading to both left and right of the upstairs. when he saw me he got up from one of the sofa's and kept the newspaper on the adjoining teapoy and called Edward to pick our bags and put them in the car, while I kept my work on the table opposite to the main door.

"Ready..?" he asked to which I shook my head yes.

We walked outside of the house to the car when he abruptly stopped which made me look at him while he was glaring ahead.

"Hello Adonis" a brown eyed tall and handsome man with a very fair complexion greeted Adonis. He stood with his hands in his pant pockets while leaning on the car and smiled our way.

"What are you doing here?" Adonis asked clearly not happy seeing who ever the man here was.
