Ming Family

The man's admiration was like an ocean, vast and unending. He practically treated the geniuses from the Great Sword Sect like idol heroes.

Not just this man as well, but many others throughout the whole city idolize geniuses.

Chao only had respect for their strength and nothing else. Although, he could understand why so many have such a high fascination with geniuses.

These types of people are basically the entire future of whatever sect, Martial Family, or other organization they hail from. When that day comes, these geniuses will surpass the old, leading their organization into a brighter future.

Many find this very noble. But the biggest idolization comes from the fact these geniuses have an immense strength that will continue to develop.

Chao silently watched the Great Sword Sect's geniuses go by. Throughout the whole duration, neither one of them spared a single glance at anybody else. They only had one goal in mind and nothing else mattered.

It could be seen as a bit arrogant. However, these youths retained a focused expression. None of them express any outward disdain for the average folks of cultivation.

Chao merely smiled as he thought to himself, 'As in true fashion, these sects love to keep up their appearances. I don't think I ever heard of any one of them doing something without having a so-called, reasonable excuse. But even so...the Great Sword Sect and Winter Wind Sect are quite extraordinary.'

Recalling from his memory, the Great Sword Sect and the Winter Wind Sect are a part of the grand title known as the Big Three Sects. They, along with the Sky Breeze Sect, represent the absolute peak tier power of Creek City.

Numerous other weaker Sect and Martial Family wouldn't so carelessly offend any one of the big three.

Compared to other organizations, the Big Three Sects have various great advantages. They ranged from superior talent, higher grade resources, and areas specifically suited to increase cultivation speed.

The Ming Family may be the most battle-hardened of all Martial Families, but even they wouldn't be so daring to recklessly change the Big Three Sects.

A day in the future, Chao firmly believed it would be his time to dominate and conquer those high and mighty sects.

But for now, Chao set his sights on his present goal. That is to successfully join the Ming Family.

Chao didn't spare a second glance back as he continued his trek toward the Ming Family. The walk didn't long, only around five more minutes.

Soon enough, he came upon the entrance of a massive courtyard.

The courtyard had to be at least tens of thousands of square feet in space. It was enough to fit multiple stores at the same time, while still having enough room to fill a huge crowd of people.

On the right side of the courtyard was an even larger manor. This manor had an even more exaggerated size than the courtyard. Chao couldn't even see where the place end.

The exterior design of the manor was as luxurious as they come. A distinct silverish glow faintly flickered from the walls, creating a completely mesmerizing sight.

Turning his focus back on the courtyard, Chao felt like he was in luck.

The interior of the courtyard was absolutely stunning. Trees blooming with life sprouted all around, a refreshing fragrance would assault one sense of smell, and there were three large buildings at equal distance from each other.

Nearly everybody walking around the courtyard wore different sets of the same robe. Some had far inferior quality while others had jewels designing their robes.

These people mainly gathered at the first and second buildings on the sides.

In the center was the single build that barely had anyone coming.

As Cain expected, the building for the entrance exam was practically empty.

Compared to how other Sects or Academies have monthly entranced exams to gather talents, the Ming Family is always welcoming new recruits.

The only problem was the tremendous difficulty of passing the Ming Family test and the high probability of death.

Such worries barely caused a ripple in Chao's mind. He calmly strolled into the courtyard, making a direct beeline toward the testing building.

He felt some slightly curious gazes land on him, but they promptly ignored him only a moment later.

Walking into the testing building, the interior was quite orderly and tight. Not many were in here. But the ones here were older men directing a small group of youths.

Chao went right up to the front desk, ready for whatever comes his way. But before he even got close, the man behind the counter took one glance at him.

A sudden cold sensation poured into Chao's Spiritual Sea, attempting to drown his mental state. Chao paused for just half a second. He internally recognized it. 'This is Killing Intent!'

A cultivator's killing intent from someone far stronger was an experience to handle. This is due to the fact they have superior powers flowing through their dantian and bodies.

It is said that extremely powerful cultivators can wipe off numerous weaker people at the same time with just killing intent.

Any ordinary person would freeze on the spot or start to profusely sweat or even collapse directly to their knees!

However, Chao quelled all nerves shooting through him. He started to walk again without any change in expression.

The man behind the desk blinked his eyes before nodding. He then took out a small crystal stone and tossed it at Chao.

He explained, "Use your energy control to shatter the crystals. Afterward will be the final part of the test."

Catching and holding the small crystal stone, Chao slowly caressed it, feeling out its distinct texture quality.

It may be a stone, but for some peculiar reason, the crystal had a soft touch.

Chao couldn't detect any amount of energy from the crystal, but his intuition was telling him this wasn't anything ordinary.

Suppressing his thoughts, Chao promptly focused up. He surged both a small stream of Origin Qi and Asura Ice Law essence through his palm and into the crystal stone.

Before his energies could fully penetrate the crystal stone, an invisible force suddenly halted Chao's energy.

At the same time, Chao felt a block forming in his Spiritual Sea, trying to affect his rate of thoughts.

Chao didn't lose his cool over this. He only used a mere second to surge out a greater abundance of energy from his dantian.

That force within his Spiritual Sea couldn't affect him at all.

His Origin Qi and Asura Ice Law essence simply overwhelmed the invisible force. It smashed right through it like an unstoppable dam, filling up the crystal stone in an instant.

The crystal stone flashed a dazzling glow for only a split second. Afterward, it completely shattered from the overwhelming force of Cain's energy.

Whatever barrier preventing any force from traveling crumbled to distance from unending waves of Cain's energy.

The shards of the crystals didn't fly out far before they turned into tiny particles of light.

Everyone in the surrounding, including the man at the front desk, placed a greater amount of attention on Chao.

Whispers started to ring out from the crowd.

"Did you see that? That kid really finished the crystal portion in a matter of seconds!"

"From what I remember reading about, nearly 90% of people who participate need at least twenty minutes to make any progress. I barely passed myself."

"Just where did this guy come from? How could his energy control be so good?"

The surrounding reaction didn't bother Chao in the slightest. If he wants to prove himself in this family, going big and loud was his best option. He especially felt it was the correct choice when noticing that the older men and the man behind the desk gazing at him with a different light within their eyes.

The man behind the desk promptly stood up and gesture towards an entrance right beside him.

He told Chao, "You passed with flying colors. Come, I have high hopes for your next results."

These words stunned the older men specifically. They couldn't help whispering out, "Did Captian Tie really give this kid words of praise? Although when thinking about it, his energy control is too astonishing. The amount of power he can unleash would be great as well."

"Without a doubt, this kid will pass the final test."

Chao simply had a confident smile. He followed right behind Captian Tie without any hesitation.

...

After a short walk, Chao ended up in another large field. As he entered, a hostile aura pricked Chao's soul sense.

100 meters across the field was a terrifying, vicious tiger-type beast curled on the ground. It uttered low menacing growls as both Chao and Captian Tie entered the field.

Although the beast didn't dare to lash out in any savage manner.

Captian Lie explained, "You must kill this Vicious beast in under three minutes while sustaining minimal injuries."
