Olivia’s POV.
“I’m serious, Marcell.” I swiped at my tears.
“So am I.” Marcell responded the hold he had on my fingers tightened as he tried to tug me closer.
“You scared me… So bad.” I explained the pressure of more emotions threatened to reemerge again. “You’ve never been so far from me. I never want to feel like that again.”
Marcell pulled at me until my thighs graced the cold sheet of the hospital bed. The overly familiar space had quickly grown to a place I hated. Spending most of my days, and nights in this sterile space. Alone. The future unknown. Haunted me.
“Climb in.” Marcell grunted trying to scoot himself over.
“No, Marcell… I’m not getting in that bed with you.” I could hold back the small laugh that puffed out through the thick emotions. “Katie wasn’t joking. They had the worst time putting you back together.”
“There’s plenty of space.” Marcell ignored my protest pulling my arm across his chest.
