Chapter 21: Atlas

Riley’s POV

“You're kidding me,” says Cleo next to me, stopping to look at the plane.

I'm staring too. The luxurious private plane awaits us.

I sigh.

“I guess he’s serious,” I mutter to Cleo.

She starts laughing nervously.

“Of all the impossibilities I could have imagined in my life, I never imagined that getting on a private plane was the one it was going to happen. But look, I'm not complaining.”

I burst out laughing as she hurries to get on the plane.

The weekend is almost here, so we must travel to California so we can carry out the first phase of Theo's plan. Normally on the weekends, I get together with Hannah, but this time my sister will have to wait.

At the very least, I'm not as anxious as I should be. I know Ella will take good care of her. Although it's also true that the prospect of having to face this man I barely know anything about never ceases to unsettle me.

As I board the plane, I see Theo standing next to Hugo.
