Riley’s POV
The hallway of the hotel where we are staying is quiet and clear, which makes me think that probably at this hour the Californian population is divided between sleeping soundly or partying hard. It's probably more the latter than the former.
There is a noise, however, that catches my attention. As I approach my room, I hear something, a series of chuckles mixed with other kinds of sounds. The kind of sounds you would recognize in the distance without having to think too hard.
“What on earth...?” I mutter.
Theo looks at me and frowns. He is two or three steps behind me maintaining some distance. He has insisted on walking me to the bedroom door, though he didn't have to.
He looks puzzled too, so I open the door slowly. But before I finish opening it, I slam it shut and my cheeks flare bright red.
“F*ck...” I say.
“Were those...?” Theo starts to ask, equally shocked.
