Chapter 44: Similar Goals

Theo’s POV

I have seen the entrance of Cameron’s house before, but I have never been inside it, even when I know very well who lives there. But that's normal. I know everything there is to know about Cameron, after all. Unlike the Baroness herself, I've taken it upon myself to thoroughly research my brother for years, somehow trying to get a clear impression of who he is.

Luckily, I know Riley doesn't lie. Cameron is a good person. A little clueless, impulsive and a little immature at times, but he's good at heart. He doesn't deserve any of what he's going through, but the truth is, none of us did. Starting with my mother.

“Ready?” Riley asks.

I have to stop for a moment and look at her. She's dressed all in black and her hair is on a high ponytail. She looks beautiful without even trying.

A quiet nod from me tells her that I am indeed ready to face the nightmare my grandmother is. Riley nods back.
