Chapter 47: To my Two Loved Ones

Riley’s POV

The door opens as easily as the previous time. The conversation that breaks out in the room is lost as I close the door, silently behind me. I know Theo must be seizing the moment to tell Cameron what has really happened. Those truths that their grandmother omitted for years. Maybe it's not the reunion he was hoping to have with his brother, but it's all I can give him right now.

After waiting a moment, to make sure no one has noticed my presence and then securing the door behind my back, I begin to move around the room, trying not to make noise.

There are many valuable pieces, but I can tell that what Cam really wanted was to have a place in his home in which to pay homage to his life. Photos of his mother and him stand out in silver frames; there are model trains and boats inside bottles, and trophies for spelling bees or tennis competitions.
