Gu Xi probably wasn't very good at teaching.
Her lecture was somewhat halter, but the children listened attentively.
Xu Ji stood outside the window watching until the sudden sound of the class bell and the teacher's goodbye echoed from the room, followed by about a dozen children pouring out of the classroom.
That was the last afternoon class.
Inside the classroom, Gu Xi packed up her textbooks and let out a long sigh of relief.
Then, when she looked up, she locked eyes with Xu Ji, who was standing outside the window.
Clearly startled, she stepped back uncontrollably.
She stared at Xu Ji for several seconds, as if doubting her own eyes, until Xu Ji began walking toward the classroom door, upon which she abruptly turned and took a couple of steps toward it.
Xu Ji happened to be standing at the classroom door.
"Xu, Professor Xu, you, you're also here to volunteer?" Gu Xi's tone was bumpy and nervous, as if she had been caught red-handed doing something wrong.
