Li Mingxi finished speaking and fumbled for her phone in her bag. While Shang Hui was still unresponsive, she quickly sent a message.
She stuffed her phone back into her bag and said to Shang Hui while facing the door, "I'm leaving."
Shang Hui leaned against the door without moving aside.
But Li Mingxi's words finally jolted him back to reality.
The furrow between his brows deepened, shadowed by a new layer of confusion and helplessness.
"Xixi, what do I need to do for you to... give me a chance?" Shang Hui's voice was hoarse, as if he had mustered great effort to speak.
As though it took a lot of strength for him to say that.
"You don't need to do anything," Li Mingxi said decisively, "I don't need you to do anything for me."
She really didn't need it, and she wasn't interested in Shang Hui's emotional journey either.
