Chapter 33: Amullette at Sunrise

Amullette POV

At sunrise, Amullette got up with Kroan and prepared Mikaya for school. It was a challenge to convince her to leave the blue dress behind, but eventually she let it go, allowing Amullette to lay it out nicely to wait for her on the bed. Mikaya remembered the pendant from the night before, and retrieved if from her dresser, putting it on before leaving the room.

Dr. Kepp knocked on the door to collect Mikaya just as Kroan was ready to leave. Kroan opened the door to her.

“Admiral Kroan,” she said.

“Dr. Kepp.”

“Amullette.” Dr. Kepp said.

“This is how you address my wife, Dr. Kepp?” Kroan asked.

“My apologies,” Dr. Kepp quickly responded. “Madam Kroan, good morning.”

“Good morning, Dr. Kepp,” Amullette responded.

“Are you ready to go to school today, Mikaya?” Dr. Kepp held her hand out to the child who shied away behind Amullette.
