We stepped onto the palace grounds and it was like a completely different world. The palace was grand even if was a little old fashioned. A finely dressed servant opened the door and let us in, escorting us through the palace and to the Sovereign’s office. 


She was tall and lean with rich dark skin and shocking grey eyes. She wore a fine dress of loose, smooth fabric that I recognized from my own collection. A streak of envy ran through me as I looked down at my harsh garments of flat blue. I took in a deep breath and looked back at the Sovereign.


“I am Sovereign Rinalyah. I have been Sovereign here for the past five years. I run a tight colony and we supply over twenty-five percent of the quadrant’s agricultural goods. I do not take any back talk and I will not humor any tantrums or craziness. If you do not like this colony, you can leave. As long as you live by our laws, you should be happy here.
