He wrapped his arms around me.
“Do you remember how beautiful it was?”
“Yes,” he said. The warmth and comfort of his embrace was more than I expected. It was a feeling of home that I had forgotten. I rested my head on his shoulder and took a breath of his warmth. He kissed the top of my head and I wrapped my arms around him.
The heat from his hands began to radiate over my back. He turned my face towards him and though it was what I wanted, the magnitude of the kiss, with its gentle nudging, was unexpected.
“I am so happy you’re not married any more,” Devestion said.
“I was never married,” I whispered against his lips.
“I know.” He held me tighter. “I thought I was happy just to see you again and know that you were safe. I knew Mack was a good guy and…” He kissed me again.
