Finally, I listened as they left the suite together. I went into the room and sat on the bed trying not to fall apart into a mess of tears and sobs. I failed. Devestion had lied to me about everything. 


I looked down at the fine blue dress I had happily purchased only a few days ago. I felt the urge to tear it off but I waited. Devestion would be expecting me any moment. I knew that I had to keep up the same appearance until lunch was over. I went back to the bathroom and carefully cleaned my face, reapplying the little make up I had begun to wear. I walked through the suite, making sure to pick up my purse and check the amount of money I had on me. 


I walked through the hotel, reaffirming with each step my decision to run away and find my mother’s brother on Earth. I found Devestion, Mack, and Ronny at the restaurant and they waved as they saw me.
