SCENE TWO

Mary and her two friends arrives at a very fancy hotel.There, she sees a lot of men, then she ask the girls again the reason they came.

Mary: Uju, Alice, what's this place, and where are we?

Alice: Chillax, you worry too much, Mom.

Uju: ( laughs ) yeah, mom.

they both laugh, as they go into one of the fancy rooms, in the hotel.

Mary: Aaah, is that not Senator Nwosu?

Alice: Yes.I thought i told you before we arrived here.

Mary: I thought you were just pulling my legs.I never knew, you really know him.

Alice: Of course i do. He invited us for a dinner.(She says smiling, tapping Mary on her shoulder ).

Mary: ( Amazed, with her mouth wide open). How did you get to know him?, i have heard so much about him .

Mr Nwosu, a senator, and a very influential man, married to Mrs Jennifer. A minister, who just won the present election.With 3 kids.

Mary: This is unbelievable. Am i hallusinating?? Like, is this for real?

Alice: It is ooh, your not hallucinating.

(When suddenly, a man approaches them)

Man : Mr Nwosu will very much like it if you would come inside the dinner hall.( He says as he ushers them in ).

Alice: Okay thanks.Your the gate keeper right?(She says staring at him, from head to toe ).

Man: Yes i am.(He says with his head down ).

Uju: No wander his looking so unkept.

(Then they both giggle).

Mary: Lets not be rude to him because of his position.We should remember that no body knows tomorrow.

Coming in, The arena was like a paradise.The ceilings decorated with Chandeliers.The chairs and tables were covered with silver linen.The cutleries gold.Then Mr Nwosu, seeing them from afar, approaches them.

Mr Nwosu: So glad you made it.

Alice, who clearly was the spokesman, in this case, we'll say, spokeswoman, or rather, mouthpiece of them all.

Alice: The honour is all ours sir, thanks for the invite.

Mr Nwosu :Your welcome dear.

Mary: ( Secretly calls Uju at a corner and asks, feeling that something was suspicious ).

Mary: Are you sure that some thing is not wrong here? Because am not seeing any other guests ooooh!!

Uju: You sef eeeh, wait a bit, others are coming. What happened is that, we came a bit earlier than expected.

Mary: Earlier than expected, she says as she looks at the time on her watch.My mom would scold me. It's past midnight, not to talk of my dad.( She says as she puts her hand on her head ). Am finished.....Am finished Uju!. It's either they pound me, or ground me.

Mr Nwosu quickly noticed that they were getting suspicious of him, then he calls Alice at a corner.

Mr Nwosu: Are you sure this girl would be good for the job??

Alice: Yeah, sure sir.Why do you ask?.

Mr Nwosu: Because the one over there is starting to get suspicious of me.

Alice: Leave her to me. I brought her here right? so let me handle her, she's kinda new to it.

Mr Nwosu: Alice, this wasn't part of our plan! i asked that you bring a low life girl you can find around the street, but this girl we're talking about clearly knows her right.( He says while pacing around,, putting his both hands on his waist ).With her tone of speaking, she's quite educated and learned.Alice, do you remember the last person you brought?. Alice what happened?.

She claimed to be a legitimate citizen of Nigeria, stating that, she knows her right.

Alice: I made a huge mistake, because back then i was still new to this whole shit.Lets let by gones be by gones.Its in the past now.(She says turning back, and looking at a far destination ).

Alice: FYI,(For your information ), i have a very good reason for bringing her here. She's well trained, and a very decent girl.Exactly what we need, to get the job, done.Dont worry.Later, you'll run to me saying ( Then she pretends to imitate Mr Nwosu Kneeling down ).

"Alice, you were right, and i was wrong.And then I'll be like, " Am always right ".

Mr Nwosu: Alice, can you hear your self speak? like a complete illiterate girl.

Alice: Trust me sir. You talk as if you don't know what am capable of.( She says as she puts her right hand on his shoulder ). you'll like her a lot when you, you know her verryy well. (Then she winks at Mr Nwosu ).

Mr Nwosu : ( Smiles as he begins to think things at her own perspective ). Your right Alice, just looking at her has already got me ..... ...

Alice:( Interupts him ).

Keep your voice down sir, before she

hears us. (She says covering his mouth ).

Mr Nwosu : Get your filthy hands off my mouth .

Alice: Is still cleaner than yours.( She says laughing ).

Mr Nwosu:So let's get started already.Wouldnt want to keep the boss waiting. ( He says as they both leave ).

Then he goes towards the direction Mary and Uju were.

Mr Nwosu: Ladies, what are doing at this corner?, when they are a lot of beautiful arenas to view.( He says pointing round the hall ).But first, i wouldn't like to keep my lovely guests hungry. let's dig in.There's a lot of varieties.

Alice: Yes, girls, Take a sit. Make your self comfortable.

Mary: ( starting to get a bit comfortable, so the girls wouldn't tease her ).

Uju: ( Draws her chair closer to Alice ) What were you and Mr Nwosu discussing at a corner?

Alice: And what we're you and Mary also discussing at a corner? You better quit asking me ridiculous questions and help me make sure this plan gets materialized.

( She says as she moves her seat closer to Mary ).

Alice: Hope your enjoying the food??

Mary: Yes, very much, but Alice, i won't lie..., my heart is not at peace at all. ( she says as she shakes her head ). As am speaking to you, i don't even know how am gonna approach my parents.

Alice: As i earlier said, Chill girl.You worry to much. Now you sound like my mom.Okay, you know what?, I'll make sure you get back home on time, trust me. ( She says as she smiles mischievously, and then draws back to her previous position).

Mary: How is she gonna get me home on time, when Clearly the dinner has just started.( Soliloquizing ).

Mr Nwosu: Please can i get you all's attention.(Then everyone turns to his direction, staring).I wanna propose a toast.Months have flewn past by, and i would confess, this is one of those times in my life, that i would always cherish, and remember.Thank you all, for being here.( then he raises his glass of wine. To Everyone here, who honoured my invitation.( Then they all raised their cups and cling).
