The sun was peeking over from the window as the curtains over the windows were now fully open. Pearl Villa was a beautiful home with cream coloured walls and full wall glass windows on the side, which was single side see-through. Today the sky was clear and bright with cool atmosphere. It seemed that the graduation ceremony brought the new beginning in the weather that it was so cheerful.
Gemma lazily took a shower and came out wearing a bathrobe to select the best outfit for her best day. And her best outfit contained a T-shirt and chinos.
Riiiiinnnngggg....
The phone call broke the soft noise and a rare silence around and of Gemma. The caller ID showed 'Sandy The Sweetheart'. Sandy was her best friend for life. They met in 5th class of school and hit it off in the detention. One was a shy and sweet girl while another was a rebellious wild child. The happy and bouncy Gem stepped into the hallway from the University compound and heard an aggressive voice threatening the soft cute kid to give out her princess pencil. And those 'protective of the pet' vibes sounded out from her heart. Constraining to those she swiftly reacted with fists and passively dragged all of them to the Detention room in the command of Mrs Travis; the Homeroom teacher of that year's newest batch.
She picked up the call. "Hey, Sandy. You ready?"
"I'm really nervous Gem. I can't decide what to wear. What are you gonna wear?" A creamy voice called out from the other side of line.
"Umm. I'm gonna wear that old dope full sleeved T-shirt which is yellow and as bright as the Sun. Along with Black ripped Jeans and Ankle High Boots. COOL RIGHT?" Gemma blabbered excitedly.
Sandy on the other side was really very nervous because her temperament was actually mild and soft. She was not keen on being too sociable to begin with. And parties or ceremonies were the occasions she always wanted to avoid.
In the large luxurious room a small figure was constantly rummaging through a huge pile of clothes on the bed. The girl was wearing a bathing robe right now and talking with someone on the cellphone. The lines of nervousness were embedded on her delicate face which made her look like a small furry beast in an unknown environment. After hearing the other side casually stating the outfit, her face turned red as she remembered how lame her questions were. The other side was her best friend, Gemma Smith. She was truly a Gem in her life. A warrior who always protected her in her University life. Without her her life will not be as comfortable or as exciting.
"How about you wear that girly yellow T-shirt. We will match on our convocation. Our pics will also come out as hot as fire. How about... how about.... say yes. Quick, say yes..."
Hearing to Gemma's excited chattering her mood also improved a lot. The nervousness which overshadowed the excitement of entering the new life faded away slowly.
She slowly recovered and got up. In the pile of clothes the pastel yellow T-shirt was pressed beneath many other fancy outfits. After saying goodbye to Gemma, Sandy called the caretaker to help her fold the clothes which were messily piled up on the bed.
She quickly groomed herself up. And held the soft yellow T-shirt to smooth out the wrinkles. It being in folded state for so much time, the wrinkles could not be smoothened. Leena, the caretaker who just helped her to clean the mess came in, holding an iron. She knew how introvert her young lady was. She smiled and tapped her on the shoulder. Hm... looks like young lady is again lost in her precious thoughts. Sandy abruptly came out of her thoughts as she felt a disturbance.
She smiled embarrassingly as she saw it was Leena holding an iron to smoothen the wrinkles on her T-shirt.
"In what Wonderland our young lady is traveling today? It seems young lady has calmed down after talking with Miss Smith." Leena teased her as she took the cloth out of her paws, which were causing the wrinkles to worsen.
"LEENA. Call me Sandy. This 'Young Lady' is so cringey." Sandy's whole face wrinkles just like her T-shirt. And the smiley caretaker chuckled at that while spreading the T-shirt out.
"Also, is brother home? He promised me he would come with me for convocation." She pouted.
"How can I disobey our precious Young Lady's order? Of course I'm here for you, your highness." A smooth male voice came from the door along with the long figure of a handsome man in dark suit. The smile on his face was a bit mischievous, in response to which Sandy rolled her eyes.
"Well, are you ready? It doesn't look like but." Darren taunted while getting comfortable on the couch. Sandy growled at him with her hands fisted. But seeing the time she sprang up from the bed.
"I just need to wear my outfit. It will just take 5 minutes. You can't back down now. You are already here. Don't leave..." Sandy yelled while running to get dressed but not after snatching the T-shirt from Leena which she had ironed.
Darren sighed. Look at his baby sister. Just how meek and sweet she is outside. And here at home... a devil's reincarnation. well, small devil. A really small. Tiny...
Leena noticed his sly expression and pitied her young lady who was innocent as lamb in front of this haughty stag. But this stag was always willing to cheer up the meek lamb with his most exasperating methods.
Sandy came out, ready to wear the one and only pair of combat boots she had. Darren was surprised at her outfit. It was so unlike het soft style and personality. It made her look more eye-catching than she already was. Darren guessed that this must be the influence of a certain monster. The next moment proved him right.
"How do I look? COOL RIGHT?" Sandy imitated Gemma's question. Listening to the sudden outburst of the energy Leena almost broke the glass which she was holding to get it filled for Darren. Fortunately she had better practice because of Gemma's frequent visits to Maxwell Manor.
Darren silently gave a thumb up and a cool hand gesture in agreement. Wow, how long he had gone abroad. And his sister had exchanged her soul. This is not the one he talked with for past two years every couple of days. Well, Children are always meant to grow up... Tch.
