"I-I admit… that it was rather, misleading or as you said, deceiving," Yvette hesitated a bit, taken aback by his direct confrontation. She never imagined him to be someone who would really bicker about how he was deceived on a date with a possible marriage candidate, but there was no way she should be paying for it like this. She took a breath in before finishing her words. "Mr. Collins, I am sorry to say, but this conduct of yours is so not acceptable. In any way, I am not the least bit interested or willing to marry anyone."
Yvette finally left her chair, and with a stern look on her, she walked away, towards the door.
But one word from Irvyn, made her freeze in her steps. And as soon as she processed what he said, a large flame of rage came bubbling in her.
"Is this because of Glen, that you are not 'least bit interested in marriage'?"
Irvyn knew this one word from him would earn him a frantic response from her. And she didn't disappoint him, as he saw her snap her head at once behind her, towards him. Her big almond-like eyes had gotten even bigger. He wasn't sure if it was with the shock or the rage, but soon his confusion was cleared by her eyes turning red from anger. He thought she would snap out at him, and he somehow wanted her to be. But to his disappointment, she didn't. Instead, she gave one death glare at him, and without giving any explanation or response, she stormed out of the cabin, slamming the door behind.
Irvyn glanced towards her way, and only after she completely disappeared from his sight, he let out a chuckle on his own.
"This will be fun."

"May I know exactly why I have to meet you now?" Yvette calmly spoke up after Irvyn was done speaking to the waiter standing beside him. She just woke up from the afternoon nap, only to know that she was invited out for a dinner by Irvyn Collins, and his secretary Josh Nelson was already standing by her house waiting for her to pick up.
"Does the idea bother you?" Irvyn asked, giving a small sip on the glass full of some orangish drink in front of him. His words might sound like he was concerned about her discomfort, but his posture along with the arched eyebrows were doing their best job revealing his proud self. As if he was implying, 'You dare to go against my words and wishes?'
What a douche. She couldn't help but swear at him in her mind.
"Sir, this is not how you ask out anyone for dinner. I understand you might have always been a superior in your life, but everyone in this world is not your subordinate," she firmly spoke up without any fear or hesitation, just simply maintaining the common courtesy. Although, it was getting really hard for her to keep doing the polite act.
She took a pause, hoping that he might say something in response. Maybe snap on her, maybe act rude, or maybe shameless enough to continue whatever he has in his mind. But to her shock, he was silent, as if there was nothing going on here, and he doesn't even know who she is. He continued to sip on his drink and scroll on his phone.
"This is ridiculous now," she let out a small sigh, thinking to herself. All of this is starting to give her a headache now. She was so tired from work today already, and she barely managed a good nap. But now, she had to rush here, just to see this man sitting in front of her, without any words.
"Oh my God, would you even talk…," she couldn't hold it any longer, and shouted out in a voice loud enough for him, but not the surrounding. But before she could finish her words, a file full of papers was on the table, just placed by Irvyn.
"Read those, and sign." Irvyn's calm and deep voice worked like a push to her surprised state, gawking at the papers.
"What are those?" Yvette asked, but that really didn't gain her any answers. So without any other choice, she picked up the file and flipped it open. There were quite a few pieces of documents, but the content in it left her in shock. She quickly flipped through the entire file, only to find them full of information about her.
"What in the world…"
"I deliberately chose this time of today because I knew you would be pretty much free today. Since you don't have any assignments going on, no evening classes, no part times on Thursday," Irvyn spoke up, only to prove that he has everything jotted down to his memory, everything about her schedule. Upon close inspection, she even found the smallest details about her. Her daily life, her usual hangouts, her schedule, her family members, and even about Glen.
"How much did you dig up about me?" she looked up straight at him, trying to stay as calm as she could. But Irvyn could clearly see her eyes wavering, while her voice was slightly shaky than before. Would it be awkward to think that her right now shaky, nervous voice sounded so much better than her usual one?
"Enough to know that you have a huge debt on you, left by your parents. You live with your maternal aunt, who is surely not too doting to you," Irvyn arched an eyebrow, glancing at her through the crystal clear glass in his hands. Her image looked funny and shaky through it, which made him feel like it was reflecting the conflicts going on in her mind right now.
"And your point?" she asked, not removing her eyes on him, even for once.
He put his glass down, this time looking straight into her eyes. He must say, the way she always tries to look fierce and defensive, even though she knows that she doesn't have what it takes to defy whatever is happening against her, was impressive. Like right now, anyone would have been scared and nervous to the point of not being able to talk, facing someone digging up all the information like some stalker. He wasn't personally a fan of this either. But he needed to do this to achieve what he was planning, without giving anyone the strongest strand of the rope, taking up the weak one himself.
He went closer towards her, only to flip through the papers in the file, stopping at the last one. He tapped on that paper before saying, "This is the marriage certificate. Sign it."
