A Mysterious Mansplainer

"Sheesh! Youths of nowadays." The old man muttered with distaste in his voice. "They only think with their dicks!" He chuckled lightly.

"I can't believe the idiot used Testosterone Rush so soon." He added, leaving Rose frowning her face.

"W-who who are you?" Her voice shook as she asked the question.

There was a saying that the devil you know is better than the Angel you do not know. And right now, even if the boy had tried to take advantage of her, it was fine.

She understood him, or could come to understand that he had saved her life. But not this old man.

And how had he been able to knock the boy down in one attempt. She took a hurried glance at Abbey who was already slumbering off on her chest and then returned to gaze at the man, her eyebrows knitted closely. What was happening herel

"Why? I am also a survivor like you. Is that not obvious enough? You just managed tk come into my hiding place as well." The old man chuckle silently at the shock in her eyes.

"Here!" He stretched his hand, pulling her up while she had Abbey in a Princess sorta carry.

His body was on the ground but his head and his upper body rested against her bosom and her left hand while eh stared warily at the old man.

"I know. B-but how did you do it? How did you know that… What. Is happening?" She asked with a sigh, shaking her head.

"I don't know too." The old man smiled at her. "You look at an old man who is one step close to his death and you ask him for explanations I've what is happening? All my years I have lived never prepared me for this." He said to her.

"Okay… but you look frail." Rose said, gazing at him from head to toe.

The old man wore a purple baggy top while he had brown plain trousers. He had a stick, a walking stick of black which he no doubt used to support his walking and a little black bag, or rather, a waist pouch in front of him.

"Yet I was able to knock him out at once. You have fo give me credit for that like you don't know what is happening." The man said, nodding to her like she was some ignorant one.

"I don't!" Rose answers sharply.

"And why the heck are those zombies still eating that infected who tried to attack us?" She asked, peering over the top.

The rest of the zombies in the hall had rushed for the bouncer infected, tearing over what was left of him in mere seconds. While they kept on shoving one another.

"Let nothing go to waste, I guess. These zombies would eat one another to gain the power of the others." The old man mused as she turned around to watch.

"I don't understand. You talk like you know what is happening here." Rose asked him, shaking her head with her eyes in askance.

"And you talk like you don't know. As if you don't have a system too." He barked out at her. "Don't trouble me, girl. Save me the mind games you want to play." He added.

At this, Rose cocked her head, narrowing the right eye.

"What do you mean by System? What are you saying? Are you some crazy?" She asked him all at once.

The old man simply nodded her way. He looked her up and down and sighed to himself, shaking his head.

"I guess I know what you are going through. My bad, I am sorry. I thought every survivor out here got to have a system as well."

"What is this system you are saying?" She asked him.

She remembered that Abbey had brought a bag with him earlier. A bag which contained a couple of some gadgets in it. However in the course of the battle, the bag was flung out there. With everything he had looted form her place of employment.

Was he talking about some gaming system now?

"Everyone should have a system. It's the way things can be fair enough. But I guess you didn't have so let me explain it tk you. The reason why he acted that way."

At this, curiosity flushed over her face as she straightened up, her eyes still wary of the old man. Yet, wanting to know what exactly was going on.

"The Endtime Apocalypse System. Just like me, your friend here is a host. The system is a buff and it was specifically created for the end time of the world." The man Explained. "You see, there have been many theories on how the world should end. Whoever created the systems must have created them with the possibility of helping humanity survive whichever end time human was found in. So, that's why my system had to analyze everything first to conclude that it was a zombie apocalypse."

"I mean that was pretty obvious, was it not?" Rose said, shuddering at him.

"Sure. But then, he should have studied the system enough to know that he should not use Testosterone Rush when he cannot control his sex drive. Can't believe you don't know this!" He exhaled. "Every man should be able to control their sex drive and rein it in. And he almost let that control him.. earlier." The man said, gesticulating to the slumbering Abbey.

Now that was something relatable, Rose agreed. The way he rushed on her, like he wanted to have her on the spot and would not be denied. She had to agree with him that he was right.

But how did testosterone, a sex hormone help in making him so strong? That is, if at all, this system of a thing was actually real.

She pondered.

However it seemed the man read her pensive face and then proceeded to answer it.

"Don't you know? Of course, you wouldn't. You girls nowadays only know makeup and nothing more. The old man frowned at her. "Testosterone is not only the sex hormone. It's also the strength hormone. A high dose of testosterone would rapidly amp the strength of a male. But as a side effect, he would have an extremely high libido for sex. That is why he was all over you. Until I knocked him out."

"Huh?" Rose gasped. Now, none of this was making sense to her.

"Don't worry. He is the best person to explain things to you. The system would kickstart his metabolism soon enough to kick him up from the slumber." He shrugged. "It's an automated feature that would happen whenever the system detects a Host in danger. Which is, because I hit form his blind spot."

And just as he said, Abbey jerked up with a loud gasp, his pupils dilating.
