The man stood in the front of the room and let out a smile then spoke for even those in the back of the class to hear clearly, "Welcome you've finally made it to the Academy! Congratulations, I know it was hard to enter but you've done it!"
To Asril and his other classmates, this statement confirmed that this is indeed a school. They nodded their heads as if they were acknowledging what he said as if they have done such.
The man that was now identified as a professor walked around the classroom passing out the school and class syllabus for the year. Everyone hastily opened the paper packet for any information to help them make a judgment on the strange situation they found themselves in.
The contents of the syllabus were strange in Asril's opinion... 'Rankings? Talent and skills are judged? Classes, are also judged?' It felt like an Asian school where your test scores are shown to the entire school.
Asril sat and read the entirety of the syllabus, most of the class did this. The professor was shocked as he stood in a silent classroom with only the sounds of pages rapidly being turned back and forth. The professor never experienced such a diligent class, he only expects most of the students in his class to quickly glance at it and hide it away in their bags; he was already seeing a bright future for his class.
The class had exasperated expressions as they took a deep breath at the contents. The key points of the syllabus are...
Ranks now exist within the school, ranging from Bronze to Ace students depending on a ratio of talent and current possessed skill; they receive certain privileges and accesses depending on rank. Class scores such as tests are also factored in the background, surprisingly it wasn't the main focus of the school.
The main focus of the school is... POWER! They wanted only the strongest, fastest, and smartest in their schools. Some of the class noticed a major keyword that shook them to the core, Mana. Those familiar with the fantasy genre have an idea of what this entails, magic was now no longer a concept, it was a reality.
Skill is judged by current physical/mana factors on a scale of F-~SSS+. Nobody in the class had an idea of what the letters corresponded to in power, but they got an idea of how it worked. The weakest were those of a letter rank of F- and the strongest was whoever could reach the highest theoretical strength of SSS+.
Classes are also ranked from a leaderboard generated by results which in turn gives more benefits. The classmates you start with are the ones you'll be with for the rest of your Academy years, not including possible transfers and new students. The class body moves as group class to class and it was the class body that got a place on the leaderboard. The class schedule is already predetermined for all students with only after-school clubs being student choice.
The professor clapped when it appeared most of the class was done, "I'm surprised, truly, I've never seen such diligence at the start of a school year from an entire classroom no less. I thought I would have to explain the school rules, turns out that's unnecessary." He gave a smile and then asked the class to introduce themselves to each other for the first time.
It would've been strange if they stated that they had already known each other for a few years so they obliged. The professor chose Lane who was the closes to him and asked him to introduce himself, "Hello my name is Lane Sparrow and I hope to have a good school life with each and everyone one of you."
Everybody in the class kept it as simple as Lane when introducing themselves as if they were they were new to each other and then it was Asril's turn.
"Hello my name is Asril Renkin, I foresee a good academy life with you guys." Asril then sat back down after introducing himself. 'To end the high school life to begin at another school in some alternate reality, life is truly unpredictable...'
Once everyone was finished reintroducing themselves, the teacher began to talk about his class as their first period. "Now then, I welcomed you to the school, now I shall welcome you to my classroom. While you must've read what this class is in the syllabus, I'm obliged to tell you anyways. Welcome to language arts!"
'He acted like it was going to be some grand class... I forgot to read the syllabus for this class.' Asril sighed.
After the small lecture of what was generally a very normal language class which was surprisingly in English was over, the class was dismissed.
Everyone began to walk to the next class while taking in the fact that this is no longer their original world at a very abnormal school they are probably forced to attend. Then it hit them, where the hell is their next class?
Then a strange phenomenon happened to everyone as if they blinked it into existence, they were now wearing a school uniform as if they had simply been blind to it the entire time, also on them was a satchel with the school map and schedule.
The school uniform was neatly put together, it extenuated their build with the school colors of black and red. Males received a formal suit piece set and the females had a skirt with stockings and more feminine formal wear.

The day continued into lunch and they attended all of their class assigned to them up till that point.
They had 4 periods before lunch which were each an hour long including the order language arts, mathematics, science, and history. Science seemed particularly unique with its concepts that were introduced as laws, nobody in the class understood why they were that way now, including Asril.
It was time for a class meeting to discuss the Academy...
