Block Party

The Mizuki twins walked behind the rest of the group.

"Yo Mizuki, question" Hayashi led the group trying to get the Kenji to talk.

"Hm?" Kenji looked at Hayashi.

"How many zombies can you and your sister handle at once?"

"About ten...with our best skills."

"Oh, would you stop underestimating me!?" Mizuki Ichika became a bit impatient taking out both her hook swords. "We could take on a small army of thirty with our best skills combined! Kenji let's go!" she growled and rushed the zombies.

"Haaah..so impatient.." He took out his own pair of hook swords and rushed out behind his sister "Hey Ichika I go left, you go right, and the world can thank us later!" Kenji smirked as he changed directions and charged from the left, hooking the ankle of the zombie, while Ichika nods and charges from the right, aiming at its head as it fell, not only digging a hole in its head but ripping it off entirely the twins looking ready to take on more.

"They can take down one zombie together and make it look terrifying...if they can take on a small army with just those two...I can't be left behind!" Hayashi takes out his [Hornet Emperor] and shot down a few zombies noticing the mutated Zombie Giant while the Mizuki twins continued to cut down more zombies. "RUN!" Hayashi ran towards the mutated Zombie Giant while attracting its attention. "I'll draw its attention, you guys get out of here!!" Hayashi tried to command the combat team while shooting at the zombie giant.

"No way! Archers Fire!" A kendo club member shouted as he goes and cuts down another weak zombie.

"Idiots...Insubordinate!" He saw multiple arrows fly above his head and around him hitting multiple zombies as well as the Zombie Giant the Mizuki twins smiled as they too joined in.

"This isn't a game! Damn you get out of here!" He looked at his combat team as some got bitten but they weren't turning. "Huh..why?" He lost concentration before the Zombie Giant punched him into a broken building. "AUGH!" He fell onto the floor, rolling over broken parts of the wall and some debris. "Tsk! [Chain Rush]!" Hayashi quickly made his way back to the Zombie Giant, jumping and stabbing its back with [Hornet Emperor] "How do you like this!? Stupid Zombie!"

"RAHHHH!!!" The mutant yelled out now noticing the students who formed the combat team.

"NO!" Hayashi takes out the [Ronin] slingshot and used the dagger end and stabbed it's back again, as a thought fired off in his head taking the [Hornet Emperor] Slingshot and stabbing it's back again, now irritated it tried to reach for Hayashi who was using the dagger ends of his slingshot to keep hold, his following stats, and proficiencies all increasing as he notices his system is telling him on the side of his head.

[Dagger Profiency] LVL6 482/1000 (48.2%)(+1)> 483/1000 (48.3%)(+1) >484/1000 (48.4%)+1...

STR Up! (+1) 27>28 (+1)...

DEX Up! (+1) 34 >35 (+1)...

INT Up! (+2) 14>16 (+2)...

He slowly felt his body pulse with strength as he stabbed into the shoulder blades of the mutant.

"Mizuki twins! Now's your chance!" Hayashi took the dagger ends out of the zombie and jumped back leaving the twins to hook its neck and slam it into the ground.

"Attaboy Kenji!" Ichika smirked

"Heh, you know me, sis!" Kenji smiled as the mutant giant zombie was pulled to the ground. "Finish it!" Kenji yelled to the kendo team as they stabbed it in the head with their improved swords.

"Ugh...Kuh...Duggh.." the zombie's small quiet groans ceased as it died there, the swords now covered in blood.

"It's finally over...Damn it...[Harvest].." Hayashi was about to cry as the mutant was harvested. "YOU INSUBORDINATE! DAMNIT! WHEN I SAID RUN WHY DIDN'T YOU RUN!?" Hayashi looked up so no one saw the tears as he asked his team, very frustrated.

"We weren't going to let you fight alone." An archery member took out an arrow from a zombie corpse.

"You might be good in a fight but no one can take on everything all alone." A kendo member smiled. "we wouldn't have been able to take the swords and armor if you planned on fighting alone and we stand aside."

"You tryna hog all the fun?" Ichika looked at him as if she were trying to intimidate him

"What she's trying to say is, no man is an island. We can't let you simply fight dangers alone." Kenji sighs as he spins his sword. "Now let's keep going deeper"

"Don't try and take over the chain of command," Hayashi told him now feeling a bit better. "We won't go deeper the conventional way, There's a reason the school is known as [Ground Zero of the Revolution]" Hayashi stated, his Combat team now more confused than ever.

"If we're not doing this the conventional way, how are we doing this?" Fueki spoke up, mumbling to herself a little as she had the phantom urge to take off her helmet despite not wearing one "It feels weird to hold a sword without kendo armor on..."

"I'm glad you asked!" Hayashi smiled. "we will go house by the house all the way to the end of each and every block, we can't have zombies falling from high floors, it certainly won't be easy since we'll be in small rooms!" He spoke to the members. "So here's what we're gonna do, split into groups of five! two archers and three swordsmen"

"Never thought I'd say this, He's starting to sound like a gym teacher"

"Not gonna lie, he kinda is" some of the teams were formed leaving three groups of 5 and a small group of 4 including Hayashi.

"We meet twenty minutes from now to have a break, go in, exterminate the zombies and come out then go to the next house, break down the doors, bust windows or break locks if you need to. Combat team! Advance!"

The groups split up each group going across the block and jumping through windows in order to get into the houses.

A few kendo students opened the door as their archers were on standby as a zombie hopped out and tried to bite them.

"Gyaaahhh!" The zombie's raspy voice came out when it tried to attack, only to get shot in the chest by archers to stop its premature attack, the Kendo team members surrounded it and stabbed the skull with their swords.

"It's honestly a good thing "Commander" Hayashi gave us these otherwise we'd be done for" THe kendo student looked at the metal layer that covered some of their swords.

"Just hurry up...This place is creepy enough as is.." one of the archers spoke taking out an improved arrow as they picked up their quivers.

"Parent's room next..." the other archer looked into the room, using the bow as a barrier to seeing what would jump out at her.

"Nothing is in here...It's all clear.." The archer spoke

"Good..." a swordsman spoke as they exited the house.

Hayashi and his team were clearing out an apartment building taking the role of leader Hayashi went in first as he saw a pair of zombies, they were parents but there was no child around as he took notice. [Chain Rush].." He whispered quietly as at blinding speeds, both zombies had dropped dead, lifelessly. "[Harvest]" He harvested the zombies together turning them into dust.

"Hayashi-senpai..." one of the swordsmen noticed his armor was a bit stained

"Next floor...come" Hayashi looked determined as he kicked the doorknob of a door off and then kicked it open, instantly knocking down another zombie who just walked near the door, as Hayashi and his group went in, they were slightly scared of the zombie until they realized it was dead, but for extra measure, they crushed the head and kept going. "[Harvest]" Hayashi kept using the skill as its proficiency went up.

[Harvest] LVL7 Proficiency 500/1090(45.87%)

[Unarmed] LVL5 Proficiency 300/1400 (21.42%)

"PING!" Function unlocked: Party System. Would you like to use the Party system?

Hayashi looked at it very, very confused. Party...System..? I mean nothing has gone wrong before...yes?

"PING!" The system gives him a bunch of names, around 16 names including his own and he could see the health bar of each, some were yellow and most were green. "twenty minutes are almost up...and I can see the entire team's names.." Hayashi saw one person's bar go from yellow to red. "Best get out of here...alright 20 minutes are up! Everyone out!" Hayashi shouts towards the group, making sure to get his teammates out before himself, multiple groups had already gotten outside, some were injured and torn through their armor, and some had faced powerful zombies, while he was doing the apartment buildings the other group had already gotten halfway done with the entire block.

"You've all done very well...So thank you. For now, we rest then we're finishing what we started"

The combat team nods as Hayashi tries to catch up to the others and gets back into the apartment buildings taking out zombies and mutants left and right.

"That dude...He's got some serious stamina..."

"True. He isn't even taking a rest, he's just clearing out the rest of the zombies and monsters on his own."

"But why?"

"Dunno man, we might never know."

The combat team would continue to rest up and recuperate from their injuries, they were mostly scratched or cut but none were bitten. Hayashi soon came out of the window.

"Here- Archery team, you left some arrows" He handed the small bundle of arrows for the archery team to take as he signaled the rest of the combat team to get back to work even though they had five minutes left.

"Everyone, let's get at least one more house before going back to base!" Hayashi looked at his inventory space looking at the number of resources he collected, from wood to stone to metal and thread along with a [First Aid Kit]. One archery member did not go back in but rather grabbed Hayashi's hand, a boy with brown hair, teal eyes, and a slim body

"Hm? need something?"

"Be careful...there's a different zombie in the house your about to go into" The boy mentioned calmly his tone getting a bit shaky.

"{Is it another mutated?} I'll keep that in mind thank you." He pats the boy's head "Nothing to fear I'm here. I'll take it on alone." Hayashi quickly thought of taking on the mutant alone. "Fueki. Lead the rest of the group into the other house, I'm going into this house" He pointed to the apartment with the mutant in it, now being able to see a small part of it through the foggy window.

"I- Wait! How am I-"

"Figure it out! Lead them and exterminate the threat" Hayashi kicked the door open and cautiously walked into the house noticing two doors of the same color, one led to a basement the other led into a bedroom, the one where the mutant was as he opened the door, letting out a loud squeaking sound that attracted the Mutant's attention.

"Damn!" He armed himself with the [Ronin] Slingshot making a shot with a round hitting it in the shoulder as it shrieked, opening its mouth filled with decayed sharp teeth.

"Crap!" Hayashi slammed into the basement door by jumping back as one of the hinges had detached making him lose his balance, the mutant chased him down and gripped his shoulder before attempting to bite Hayashi sending the door off its hinges and the two enemies sliding down the stairs

"I'm not dying...HERE!" Hayashi kicked the mutant off him, as he was now surrounded by three low-rank zombies. The zombies gave him no chance to rest when he tried to get up while one tried to pounce him and screeched, he punched it in the face, stumbling onto his feet. "[Chain Rush]!" the trio of weak zombies was instantly defeated by Hayashi's blades as its proficiency rose.

The Mutant rushed at Hayashi, making direct eye contact with the mutant, oozing killing intent, making it back away, the mutant seemed to have some limited form of intelligence as Hayashi also backed away looking at its form noticing was another monster that resembled folklore.

"Aquatic- Chimara Cecelia... or at least some twisted version of it...thank god you are on land rather than in the sea, you'd kill us all by starving us..."

"Skreee- Krreeeee!" The mutant jumped into the air, aiming what could be called its mouth at Hayashi.

"[Strong Shot] It's over..." Hayashi released the skill at a point-blank range firing through the head of the mutant as it dropped dead on the floor. "[Harvest]...Damn you...you must have mutated from eating aquatic life somehow." Hayashi watched as three yellow orbs and a blue orb flowed into his hand watching items fill his inventory space. "From here on out things are going to get exciting..." He noticed a new skill book in his inventory, but it wasn't a skill book, deciding he would use it later he exited the house to see his combat team had completed his mission during the hard fight he had with the mutant.

"I assume we've cleared these blocks?" Hayashi was expecting no reply

"Yeah" three voices chime out as the Mizuki twins along with Fueki had responded

"It was rather easy thanks to you" Fueki stated

"We only got normal zombies to deal with" Kenji replied a bit bored

"I think all of us feel a bit stronger," Ichika said spinning her swords

"Then there's only one last thing to do...first [Harvest!]" Hayashi felt multiple orbs fly into his hand many yellow, blue, purple, and red lights flowed into his hand then he closed it smiling at the [Harvest] Skill's ability and range of the ability seeing the proficiency rise until it leveled up again along with a few other skills.

[Harvest] Level up! > [Harvest] LVL8 0/1500 (0%)

[Strong Shot] LVL 7 675/1000 (67.5%)

[Unarmed] Profiency Level up! > Unarmed LVL 6

"Next on the list, is that we go home...We can't risk running into other groups.." Hayashi could feel the presence of at least one person as if they were being watched. "Combat team! Back to base!" Hayashi walked towards the way to the school that served as their base of operations as the combat team followed him as they opened the gate by force, their clothes and armor were tattered after taking out an entire neighborhood's worth of zombies and two mutants which each had their own special rewards as they were welcomed by the only person who had stayed up late to greet them: Baisho Akari.

"Welcome "Yawn" back...Combat team...I hope your mission was successful...I order everyone to rest...and wait for orders tomorrow morning..." The student council president looked incredibly tired but they were grateful, it was a morale boost for them all as they wished each other goodnight and started to drag their feet until they reached somewhere they could sleep.
