"Thief?!!!" asked Vania surprised.
"Yes. There is an honored guest in this hotel who lost his ring which he put on his desk," replied the hotel clerk.
"Then why are you accusing David?"
"Because our guest said that this young man named Davin was near the table. Therefore, the hotel will process this case first to investigate this matter."
"Who is the guest? Show me," said Vania curiously.
The hotel employee immediately pointed to the restaurant. He pointed at Ardy who was smiling mockingly at Vania and Davin.
Vania immediately knew that it was all slander for Davin.
"I didn't steal, Van," Davin whispered to Vania.
"I know. This must be the frog's slander!" Vania replied angrily while pointing at Ardy who was currently laughing in the hotel restaurant.
"What's important to me is that you don't believe in that slander. Now, you eat first, you're already hungry. Let me try to explain to them and--"
"No! My hunger is gone." Vania cut. "I will accompany you to undergo an examination because I believe that you are innocent," continued Vania.
"But, you're already hungry."
Vania ignored Davin's words. He looked at the hotel clerk. "Sir, we are both going to have an examination. Where is it?"
"There is a security guard who will take you there," said the hotel clerk, pointing to a security guard who was coming to them.
At this time, Vania knew that in the hotel restaurant, Ardy was still watching them, therefore, because of her anger at Ardy, Vania deliberately clung to Davin's arms.
Vania also whispered affectionately to encourage Davin and make Ardy annoyed.
Vania's prediction happened. Ardy seemed to be slamming the drink in his hand in annoyance.
Vania laughed mockingly at Ardy's behavior. He stepped out of the place with Davin.
Arriving at the examination room, a senior security guard, looked at Davin's face, he wanted to act like a police officer in the interrogation room.
This security guard tried to undermine the defendant's guts before starting his questions.
"You are suspected of taking a watch belonging to Mr. Ardy which was left on the table of the seven ballrooms of this hotel last night."
"I didn't take it," said Davin.
"Mr. Ardy said, when he left his watch there, only you were there," continued the security guard starting the trial.
"That night, I didn't even sit at any table, sir. As a Cleaning Service, I'm used to standing outside during events."
"Is that true?"
"Yes. That night, I was standing outside, to then go up on stage. So, I make sure, that I never sat at any table," replied Davin calmly.
The answer that makes Vania happy.
"But there is a distinguished guest at this hotel who insists on seeing you approach the table and take his Rolex watch," the security guard insisted.
"Let's put it this way, sir. A hotel as luxurious as this, there must be CCTV, right? You can look there, look for evidence, if I did approach the table or not," said Davin calmly.
"I can't. What our honored guest says, it's dead and--"
"Let's do it, sir. My uncle is a policeman. Let him come check the case and look at the CCTV, so that everything is clear. How about it, sir?" Vania cut.
"Er ..."
"If there is an attempt to slander my friend, then everyone involved must be held accountable." Vania tried to bluff
Vania suspects that the security guard's tough attitude seems to have been arranged by Ardy.
Actually, Vania doesn't have a police uncle at all. She just wanted to bluff.
"Er ... er. That's it. Let's just say, I'll free you. You can go," said the security guard after stuttering for a while.
Davin was still silent but, Vania immediately pulled his hand to take him out.
"Let's just eat. Let's eat outside the hotel. We're hungry," Vania whispered in Davin's ear.
David nodded his head.
Finally, the two of them found a simple restaurant about 50 meters behind the hotel, they ordered food and sat opposite each other at the center table.
"Let's go out today, shall we?" said Vania while looking at Davin's solid jaw.
"Go out?"
"Yes. Get out of the hotel. Actually, we can stay for two days for free at the hotel but, I don't like Ardy's slander, so it's better if we get out."
"Okay. I agree. Actually, it's a shame, because the room is quite nice--"
"Later, if we have holidays, we will stay at another hotel. I have a member who gets a big voucher to stay at the hotel, and--" Vania did not continue her words.
Because Vania just realized that she had invited a man to stay with her at the hotel.
Vania just realized that it was inappropriate to say such words, so she immediately fell silent.
"Why are you silent? Oh... The hotel voucher has been used, hasn't it? It's okay, really. If that's the case, then I'll work hard so I can have money for us to stay at the hotel," said Davin.
Davin was not aware of the main reason why Vania had been silent.
"Eh ... yes yes," answered Vania carelessly.
Actually, Vania was quite uncomfortable with talking about staying at the hotel.
Because in her entire life, Vania has never stayed alone with a guy in a hotel, boarding house, apartment or whatever.
Because last night was the first for Vania, to stay with the boys, luckily, even though they were in the same room, they slept separately.
"Tell me about you. Your childhood, your parents and your dreams. Come on, please?" said Vania to change the subject.
"I... I wasn't actually born here. I came from far away. My mother only came from here. But then, I went with my father and lived at my father's place," said Davin starting his story.
Davin paused for a moment because it coincided with the arrival of a waiter who placed their ordered food on the dining table.
"Oh, so? You are from that area and only your mother is from Jakarta. Then, from the village, you migrated to Jakarta to try your luck, right?" guessed Vania after the maid left.
"Um ... that's it," replied Davin.
Davin was forced to lie because he still didn't want to reveal his true identity to Vania.
Because Davin wants to approach Vania, as a poor person who has nothing.
"So what? Please continue the story," urged Vania.
"Er...my goal is simple.
I just want to meet a woman, who really loves me, a woman who is willing to live with me in joy and sorrow until death do us part."
"Hihihi..."
"Why are you laughing?"
"Yes, that's right. I asked about your goals. The name of the dream, everywhere means, the dream of becoming a doctor, becoming a pilot, being an entrepreneur, and so on."
"Oh, I see?"
"Yes. If what you said earlier, the matter of a mate is not an aspiration."
"Wow, is it wrong?"
"Yes, it's wrong. An example is like me. When I was little, my goal was to become a doctor, so when I was in high school, I became interested in becoming an architect."
"Oh."
"Finally, when I graduated from high school, I didn't go to medical school either. I studied engineering and finally, graduated as an architect and worked in our office. Did you go to college or not?"
