(Alice pov)
"Hey Ares" I waved at him with a smile. Ares cooked his brows, staring at me with his cold, dead eyes.
"Hey" his reply was cold
"I'm Alice" I said twirling my hair. "We went to the same highschool." I continued.
"I know" His reply was curt. I might have taken offence if I didn't know that he was wired that way. While Opze was the nicest among the three friends, Ares was the coldest. He barely talked, and I haven't seen him smile once while we were in highschool.
Scowling was his default mode.
He dead eyes skated over me, scanning me.
"You're the girl he fucked, the one Opze fucked, aren't you?" I choked
"What? How did you know?" I groaned, face palming.
"I was in the room remember?" He cocked a brow, a ghost of a smile passed his face.
I remember now, I'd had sex with Opze in the private room at one of Roy's parties. He must have been there or walked in during the time.
"Looks like I'm right." He was amused, he enjoyed this.
"Yeah and so what?" I shot him a glare.
"Nothing" He grinned and fuck it, it was beautiful. I had never seen him smile, not even once, not even by accident, not even at all.
I guess leaving highschool made him much more approachable.
He stood up from the deckchair "You were going for a swim, weren't you?" He asked.
"Yes" I nodded, I wasn't thinking.
"Then go" I turned and left "Don't drown in there" I heard him say, my back turned to him.

(Ares pov)
I watched her as she dived into the water, her black bikini clinging to her pale skin. She had wondrous curves.
She was gorgeous.
And what the fuck was I doing staring at the girl.
I knew what the end game was. She wasn't smitten by me, far from it... She wanted to indulge in the the myth that Ares was.
The myth I fed.
Alice was going to be a deal, and not some emotional baggage. I'm a shitty person for thinking like this but so was she. And so was every one who attended Devon Academy. We were all shitty people by default.
She got out of the water, the water clinging to her luscious curves.
I sat back on the deck chair, while she sauntered towards me.
" My place?" I asked once, she was in front of me.
" Where do you stay?" She asked.
"Winnetka." I shrugged
" You have a place in winnetka?"She gasped.
"More like rented."
"Ohh?"
"I don't live here, you don't expect me to stay in a hotel" I teased
" Ohh okay, your place then." She shrugged.
I shut my mouth, glancing at the sea waves, I wasn't ready to go home yet.
I think she got it, since she decided to sit on the deck next to me.

I woke up to the sound of phone ringing the next morning.
Alice was in bed next to me, and with that, the memories of the previous night.
I picked up the phone, surprised to see my sisters name on the phone screen.
I had mostly forgotten I had a sister, this past few years, Scarlett must have seen me in a vision to call me this morning.
I joked in my head.
"Hey" I said
"Ares?" her voice beamed through the speakers of the phone.
" Yes it's me"
"How dare you not call me"
I smiled " Communication goes both ways you know, if I don't call, you do.
"You can't even say a sorry?"
"Why'd you call Scarlett?".
"Can't I call 'cause I miss my little brother?
"Nope" I groaned
"Okay, grandma wants you home for Christmas. We are all going to her place, including mom.
"Shit, I just started my holiday here."
"Fuck it, and come home stupid"
"Uhh" I groaned.
"It's grandma's wish." She said firmly.
" Expect me today or tomorrow." I cut the call
I groaned, grandma's wish, my command.
I proceeded to get out of the bed.
"Won't you tell me what's up?" Alice said from behind.
"I've to go back home." I groaned
" You mean home home?" She asked.
"Yes home home" I replied. "You can stay here, If you like or you can leave. Either ways I have to leave here.
I didn't wait for her reply. I darted out of bed, calling my PA to book me a flight home.
"Home, that lives a bad taste in my mouth."I smile bitterly.
