Birthday Banquet

Rosetta was about to depart back to her home, she has stayed with Derrick for far too long and her mother Countess Theresa has sent her a letter to return home, she has been in the Dark territory for up to a month now, she was also learning from Derrick's mother who was an elder water mage, although her attributes has evolved to ice, she could still use water attribute, so being taught directly and the close proximity she had with Derrick made her forget that she needed to go home.

"Alright I will miss you, I will come visit next year" Derrick said after a while, it was hard for him to say and was only encouraged by the nosy demon, after spending sometime with Rosetta he has grown fund of her too, it would be a lie to say she wasn't important to him.

Rosetta looked at Derrick with a straight face, but was inwardly happy "you better come next year or else" Rosetta replied Derrick not showing if she was happy or sad.

"Yes my lady, I will do so, safe travels, please do well to send my greetings to your parents" Derrick replied with a slight bow after escorting Rosetta to the carriage.

"Give her a kiss, a very long kiss, so that she wouldn't stop thinking about you on the way home, raise your affection points you idiot" Zazel said to Derrick in his head, Derrick was just damned tired of this broken radio, although Demon King Zazel voice was nice to hear, but everything that comes out of his mouth was shit, and to Derrick it was now a broken radio.

Seeing that the soldiers were not looking and the maids were busy packing, Derrick sneaked a peck towards Rosetta before saying "Take care of yourself my lady" then quickly turning towards the mansion like he was escaping, he doesn't have any experience in both lives, so he still felt embarrassed.

Rosetta was shock she stood still for a few seconds, before her face turned bright red, she wanted to scream at Derrick 'you pervert' but only smiled and entered her carriage in a very bubbling mood, meanwhile Baroness Miranda who was watching from afar was grinning like a little child, even the maids and soldiers saw the peck but tactfully ignored it, but Rosetta personal maid was excited of the outcome, she thought 'the young miss is getting his heart'

It was Derrick 11th birthday and Baron Dark decided to throw a banquet inviting nobles of the Eastern territory that was interested in Derrick rumours, they now had a reason to come in person.

"Oh talk about annoying" Derrick said to himself when he looked at the mirror, he was looking dashing, a formal black tuxedo, with a red tie, his red hair slickly permed backward, his lashes was neatly done, he was a handsome young boy.

"I don't even know anyone in the nobility circle apart from Rosetta, so why this?" Derrick sighed sitting on the bed.

"Hey brat, you almost look as good as me catching ladies wouldn't be that hard, and aren't you a noble? you must learn how to make more nobility as friends" Zazel said, is already been a year demon king Zazel has been with Derrick, Derrick has now learnt how to ignore what needs to be ignored and accept what he could, the pervert demon has helped him alot in the growth of his sword, his plan was to become a magic swordsman with little effort, but the demon has been harsh on him, his growth has been steady, now the obstacle he would be facing was the birthday banquet.

This was the first time Derrick has seen alot of carriages in the dark territory with exquisite and expensive designs, this gave him an headache.

"Son is time you came out to greet the guest" Baron Dark arrived to take Derrick out of his room, Derrick still felt all this was unnecessary, "Can't I just skip it father?" Derrick asked while looking glum.

"Son they all came here to see you and you want to skip it? do you want all of them to harbour ill will against us? stop daydreaming and follow me" Baron Dark replied, before walking out of the room, Derrick only sighed and followed behind his father.
