Ch-39 Julian's Past (1)

" Its the meditation technique you are using. It has been modified to help absorbing Internal Ki Energy and solely for that purpose. You can't absorb any other type of energy with such a technique. I will give you a basic cultivation technique, if you don't practice it then you can stop dreaming about obtaining Mana. "

Teacher's words hurt him deeply. He wanted to obtain Mana and was a must for increasing his strength but he couldn't just disregard the teachings of his Master, who had protected him for the last 8 years supporting and helping through out his life. It was because of him, he was able to stand at the top of Blue World.

Jasper was confused unable to make a decision with these conflicting thoughts constantly running through his mind when his eyes fell on the spacial ring.

Jasper was suddenly reminded of the dire state his sister, Jennifer was in. She was in this condition because he not was strong enough. He valued Master a lot and wouldn't do anything against his wishes , however right now, it was more important to come out of the Evergreen Jungle alive with her.

He had already accepted the changes occurring in his life after Jennifer dragged him into this World of swords and magic. Or rather he brought it upon himself when he choose to save Rufus from the truck, unintentionally awakening mana.

Jasper steeled his resolve if he had gone against his Master's wishes as he started to think about ways to increase his strength

"Which meditation technique are you going to teach me perhaps the ' Sun Swalloing Technique' or ' Unequaled Art '!!!"

" Idiot, its a cultivation technique not meditation. They are two completely different methods of breathing, learn to differentiate between them otherwise you will face a lot of problems in the future. As for the name, hmm ' Body Training Technique '

" Haaa, what's with the lame sounding name. Please change it, I am embarrassed to even try a technique with such a crappy name. "

" You and you're odd choice of words. Are you going to keep using words that make no sense."

------------------------------

Jasper sat cross-legged on a floor filled with fallen trees which had been there for a sometime after they fell in the Autumn Season. His face showed deep frowns indicating he was in deep thought. In front of him was a paper scroll with the title ' Body Training Technique '.

' What the heck is this??! I can't understand even a little of it. How am I suppose to practice the technique. I should just ask teacher to teach it.

No, no I can't do that. There is a deeper reason behind not teaching the cultivation technique. It must be because he wants me to learn it on my own without any outward interference.

But how am I to start practicing the cultivation technique when I can't even read it.

Is there any other solution to this problem? Oh, what about that! Yes, that should work. Its a little risky so I always avoid using it but desperate times calls for desperate measures. '

Julian meditated the technique he had used only 2times in his life, concentrating Internal Ki Energy in his hands and then sending it rapidly to the brain. He continued on with the process, showing no signs of stopping after 5 minutes. As the Internal Ki Energy accumilated in Jasper brain, his IQ level and comprehension soared.

With this improved mind Jasper was able to immediately understand the contents of the manuscript through deductions and pure brain power, before he stopped the process.

Jasper was exhausted after the ordeal likewise taking rest was a must or else his condition could worsen. He rested for short time hugging the lynx like a teddy bear. Although the Lynx was being squeezed quite brutaly, it didn't mind because it was a way for his Master to show love. It had been exploited since it was born so how could it ever complain when someone showed him so much love.

After getting up, Jasper finally cultivated his teacher technique for the first time, however to his immense displeasure it made no difference in his state. Despite cultivating for half a day from sunrise to sunset, he still couldn't sense a minuscule of mana.

Dejected, Jasper took a walk with Lynx when he spotted Julian setting up fire. He decide to help his teacher, so both of them worked together to set up fire, tents , hunt food and secure water supplies. It was a fun experience for Jasper and his sour mood became better.

They setup everything and began to enjoy the rewards for their labour with a scrumptious meal.

" How did the cultivation go? "

Jasper paused for a second, hesitated the next second, then answered, " Not good, Teacher. I was able to understand the manuscripts writing and practised the technique in the right manner, however I still couldn't sense even a minuscule of mana. "

"Ohh. Keep practising the technique, it wouldn't be long before you can use mana like a child's play. "

" That's easy for you to say. I am sure you must have not needed to struggle in your life to obtain mana. I am different I don't have any relation to mana"

Jasper sensed an ominous aura increasing beside him, scaring him silly. The increasing ominous aura disappear just as quickly it had appeared. " You think I have had an easy life. Its never easy to reach the peak of the World. The suffering I have suffered is nothing compared to what you have experienced. "

Julian calms himself down and then again looks Jasper in the eyes. " Let me tell you My Story. About how I became one of the strongest existences in Arcane World, when I was never meant to be. "

----------------------------------

A few centuries ago, Healing Mages were exploited not even being given the basic rights to live like a human. Their life was worse than pet beasts and fodder. Forced to stay locked up in a small dirty room and given rotten food which had gone bad for a long time. Most of the times they were tortured by making them use non-stop Healing Magic despite their pathetic state. They were made to continue even after most of the Mana had been depleted from their body until they were too close to death. Every day, more than 10 people died due to mana depletion .

In these sickening environment, the ancestor created a technique that increased strength without Mana. He used this technique to become strong enough to deal with his captor.

People were afraid when facing the unknown . He saw the fear in the eyes of his captors and other Healing Magic Users and realized that his source of strength was abnormal.

Although body practitioner could be found everywhere in Arcane World. This was a place where mana existed and magical energy was the main source of strength. It would be hard to swallow for a physical strength practitioner to be stronger than them.

The Ancestors knew the trouble they would have to deal with if Magic Users got to know his unnatural strength. So, the Ancestors and the Healing Magic users with him decided to cut off their connection from the Outside World and live in a secluded area creating a village where they could live peacefully while improving their magic and physical strength.

Months passed, Years passed and Ages passed as the Arcane World and their Healing Village kept developed separately. The purpose of crating this village was to never experience the exploitation they had suffered in past, their goal was to always to keep getting stronger. Almost all the people in the village had the only desire to keep improving and becoming stronger.

Julian was a smart child from birth revered as the greatest genius of the era by the people of the village. When he was born a natural phenomenon occurred indicating his insane talent and fate, subsequently he was the first to realize that the practice of Healing Magicians in Healing Village had reached the limit of increasing physical strength. When the ancestor discovered this method of increasing strength, it was new but after ages of development and implementation this path had reached its end, for further improvement a new path had to be paved .

Julian though hard about the options they had for improving and realized that the answer lay in weapons. Weapons were an important component in battle having its own unique properties and allowed the weapon bearer to use their strength with more effectiveness.

The problem was Healing Magic was gentle by nature and would never harm someone. It was useless in battle. Still, Julian had to find a way to counter this disadvantage and find a way to increase his strength using weapons!
