Blake hadn't let go of Blair and Irina for a second.

He bent slightly to kiss the top of her head, whispering words of assurance along with his wife. Blake was not sure what to do. He heard his daughter cry many times in the past, but this one was worse than most.

It was full of despair and sorrow. The only thing he could do was hug her and wait for her to open up. But knowing that did not make him feel any less incompetent.

'What kind of father couldn't help his daughter in this situation?' Luckily, he had Irina by his side. She seemed to know just what to do, seeing that Blair started to calm down a little with her humming. 'I guess she's still her mother's little girl through and through.'

After basking in her parents' embrace and assurances for a while, her cries and sobs eventually subsided into small sniffs accompanied by snots and hiccups.

"What happened, dear?" Irina asked gently.
