Chapter Thirty-nine

Bella tried calling Chris again severally but his line wasn't connecting so she had to go back to what she was doing. She decided to go  to Alexia's room because she needed advice. Liam and the twins were in Alexia's room when she got in.

"Hi guys." Bella said walking into the room.

"Hey Ella ." They greeted back.

"Guys I think I might have landed myself on Chris bad side. I don't know if I'd be so lucky and not get myself fired this time." Bella said rubbing her fingers against each other aggressively.

"Why do you think so?" Alexia said

"I taught you guys were fine." Liam said

"I don't care if he's fine with you or not as long as he doesn't get you fired then I won't have problem with him." Kayden said

"Tell us what happened." Jayden said.

"Well. I ... I." Bella shuttered

"Ella calm down." Alexia said

"I actually invited Chris." Bella said almost at the verge of tears

"What!" Everyone exclaimed with wide eyes

"Sis.... Are you crazy?" Kayden said glaring at Bella

"So what's the problem?" Liam asked.

"He came few minutes ago but saw Neil and I in a compromising situation." Bella said which came as a huge shock to everyone.

"The same guy you went on a date with yesterday?" Liam asked with a smirk.

"Yes." Bella said

"By compromising situation, you mean?" Alexia asked studying Bella's face.

"Well Neil hugged and gave me a kiss on the cheek without my permission. It came as a suprise to." Bella said

"And Chris was there?" Kayden asked.

"Yes." Bella replied

"I actually taught maybe he caught you guys have a steamy sex." Jayden said which earned him a glare from Bella.

"So where's Chris?" Liam asked

"He left." Bella said.

"He left or he stormed off?" Alexia asked.

"More like the latter." Bella said nodding.

"Ahhhhhhh....al gess-eoyo." Jayden said

"Speak in a language we understand dummy." Kayden said glaring at Jayden while Jayden rolled his eyes.

"Have you tried calling him?" Alexia him?

"Yes. Am tried severally but his line is not connecting." Bella said.

"Do you guys think he blocked me?" Bella asked.

"You never can tell." Alexia said with a shurg

"Have you messaged him on WhatsApp?" Jayden asked

"Or Instagram." Kayden added

"Are you guys trying to make her look desperate?" Liam said

"Am sure he'd come around." Alexia said.

Bella's alarm went off after a while. She had set the alarm so as to know when to head to the boat.

"Guys please call Uncle Joe and head to the boat. Catty and I would bring mum." Bella said as she stood up to leave.

"Alright see you soon then." Alexia said as Bella existed the room.

Bella made her way back to her room to get changed. She wore a carton colour lace up deep v long sleeve mini dress. She decided to let down her hair and she didn't feel the need to get her makeup done so she picked a pair of carton colour lace up sandals and her phone before leaving the room.

"Where on earth have you been Ella." Vera said as soon as Bella opened her room door.

"Am sorry I didn't tell you mum but I went to confirm our booking for the boat cruise. I wanted to make sure everything was okay." Bella said.

"Okay then." Vera said.

"So can we go for boat cruising now before the temperature falls." Raquel said with a puppy face.

"Yes baby." Bella said smiling.

"Mum wear that dress I got you." Bella said

"Why?" Vera asked

"Mum no questions. I got you that dress for the boat cruising so please wear it." Bella said looking at her mum with pleading eyes.

"Okay fine." Vera said picking up the dress.

Bella styled her mum's hair before giving her a cream hat and a cream basket bag to top up her look. Vera wore the navy blue with straight white stripes that Bella had gotten her before heading out of the room.  Bella picked up a winter jacket for herself, Raquel and her mum before leaving the room.

Joe and the rest were already in the boat when Bella arrived with her mum and Raquel. Everywhere was silent so there was no way Vera could have imagined that others were in the boat. Bella decided to lead her mum to where Joe was after a while. She had lied to her mum that she wanted to pee and was to scared to go down alone. Raquel immediately caught the trick and said she wanted to pee too and wanted Vera to follow them.

After a while Vera had no idea where Bella and Raquel might be so she decided to search for them. The first door She opened made a shocked. She saw Joe standing in the room with flowers in his hands. The room was beautifully decorated with red petals and balloons. Their was champagne on the table and the violinists were solemnly playing. There were will you marry me letters beautifully designed on the wall. Vera was really surprised because never in her life could she have thought that they were planning her proposal all along.

Joe walked closer to her. He wore a blue suit and a white shirt. He didn't button up his shirt and he looked really lovely in his shirt. He pulled out the ring case from is left trouser pocket and opened the case to reveal a beautiful oval shaped diamond ring.

Joe looked at Vera with love and admiration and Vera couldn't help but feel giddy.

"Vera." Joe called out looking at Vera with administration.

"You know... You're one of the best that has ever happened to me. I never would have thought I had the ability to love again. You brought me out of my shell and thought me how to love. You thought me how to love you. You made me smile again by light into my dark life and I won't have it anyway. I don't want to be apart from you anymore. I want to sleep next to you and wake up next to you every morning. I want us to live together with our children as one big happy family."

Joe got on one of his knee holding up the ring.

"Vera Walter, will you make me the happiest man on earth by saying yes to my proposal?"

"Vera will you marry me?"  Joe said searching Vera's face. Vera's eyes were filled with tears of joy. She never thought she could find love again after what happened to her in the past. She held her hands up to cover her mouth in other to stop herself from crying but she couldn't stop the tears.

She held out her left hand in of Joe. Her right hand still covering her mouth as she nodded her severally. She couldn't find her voice but she tried harder to find her voice.

"Yes! Yes! I will marry you." Vera said as Joe placed the diamond ring on her fourth finger before he stood up to hug her. Bella, Raquel, the Twins, Alexia and Liam came out of where they were hiding screaming in excitement which really suprised Vera.

"She said yes." They shouted in excitement hugging each other. Joe and Vera broke free to hug everyone in the room.

"Congratulations." Bella said with a smile hugging Joe.

"I get to finally call you Dad." Kayden said.

"Am super duper happy." Raquel screamed in excitement before hugging Vera.

"When did you guys plan all this and how when did you guys come in?" Vera asked wondering.

"We came in since Friday." Joe said

"Wow but I come I never knew you guys were around?" Vera asked confused

"We were on another wing entirely." Joe answered.

"So Ella you've been disappearing every now and then because they were around right?" Vera asked

"Am glad you finally figured it out mum." Bella said with a smile.

"I have to get back to my hotel room I have a flight to catch tomorrow." Bella said.

"Same here. Me too." Alexia and Liam said in unison.

Bella and others made their way back to their various rooms. She sent the videos and pictures of the proposal to Bianca before she drifted off to sleep.
