Chapter 63: Charmaine

I heard voices echoing in my ears. I shifted from my spot but ended up halting because of the pain I felt in my back. I winced, gritting my teeth and trying to control the scrutinizing torment rushing into my system. I wanted to move my body, but it was tough to handle my muscles. They are getting benumbed.

I slowly opened my lids. I couldn't depict where am I as my vision was still hazy from dozing off. I clearly don't recognize a thing. I was massaging my temples when I heard someone speak beside me.

"Get up and eat your food."

The voice wasn't familiar. Due to my sudden adrenaline rush that maybe it was someone else and would harm me when I realized it was the old man who let us go inside his cabin. He was sharpening his knife, making that terrible screeching noise.
