A month had passed, and the fruits of my labor were finally beginning to show. My proficiency in Ninjutsu had increased significantly, and my skills were becoming sharper every day.

By now, I had gotten over the initial awkwardness with Itachi. After all, it was nearly impossible to call him "sensei" after years of addressing him as "nii-san" or "Itachi-san." Thankfully, Itachi never pressed the issue, making the transition more comfortable for all of us.

Today, we found ourselves standing at the mission desk, eager to receive our very first mission. Naruto and Sasuke practically buzzed with excitement, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. I was a bit more cautious—I couldn't help but hope we wouldn't be stuck chasing after Tora, the elusive cat, for our first mission.

As if sensing my thoughts, Itachi calmly asked for ten D-rank missions. My stomach sank, and I knew the boys' reactions would be priceless. Sure enough, as Itachi handed us the mission scrolls, their faces quickly transitioned from joy to disbelief. I couldn't help but smirk as I opened the scroll and found babysitting, repairing fences, weeding gardens, and other menial tasks listed.

"Ten D-ranks?" Naruto nearly wailed. "Come on, Itachi-san! We're Genin now!"

Sasuke, too, looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. "We're Uchiha. Shouldn't we be doing something more… challenging?"

"Oh, this is plenty challenging," Itachi replied with a straight face, though I could detect the tiniest hint of amusement in his eyes. "You have a week to complete them all. Consider it part of your training."

Naruto opened his mouth to protest further, but I cut him off, patting him on the back. "Cheer up, Naru-chan. We can make it fun! Think of it as a game. Besides, the faster we finish, the sooner we get to do real missions."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow at me. "You really think we can make this fun?"

I winked at him. "If you're as good as you think you are, we'll be done in no time. And just think, weeding a garden is great training for your precision. Maybe I'll even time you."

Sasuke rolled his eyes, but I could see the corner of his mouth twitch upward in a reluctant smile.

And so, our week was filled with a mix of mundane tasks and training sessions. We'd start the day with a mission, sometimes two, and then head straight into training with Itachi. While the boys grumbled at first, it wasn't long before they started seeing the value in our D-rank missions—especially when Naruto accidentally fell into a river while trying to fish out someone's pet and Sasuke had to help him out, all while I laughed from the shore.

One day, while we were tasked with babysitting a particularly mischievous set of twins, Naruto found himself the target of their prank. The twins, clearly fans of Naruto's pranks on the villagers, decided to tie his shoelaces together and put itching powder in his sandals. When Naruto finally noticed, he let out a howl of outrage, which only caused Sasuke and me to collapse into fits of laughter.

"You two think this is funny?" Naruto huffed, his face red with annoyance.

"Yes, yes we do," Sasuke replied, struggling to keep a straight face as he wiped a tear from his eye.

"Don't worry, Naru-chan," I teased, "It's all part of your training. Think of it as practice in dealing with unexpected traps!"

Naruto glared at me but soon broke into a reluctant grin. "Alright, fine. But when it's my turn to laugh, don't think I'll go easy on you!"

As the days passed, I made steady progress with my medical ninjutsu. Dr. Shin Uchiha had given me the green light to start working on the Mystical Palm Technique, a significant milestone in my training. Every night, I would practice the technique diligently, growing more confident in my ability to control and direct my chakra with precision.

Three weeks later, after completing our 30th mission, Itachi finally announced that we were ready to take on C-rank missions. Naruto nearly jumped for joy, while Sasuke allowed himself a small, satisfied smile. Even I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. Finally, something more challenging.

"Oh, the Wave Arc is coming," I thought to myself, barely able to contain my anticipation as we approached the mission desk to collect our first C-rank mission.

As Itachi spoke with the mission coordinator, Naruto and Sasuke leaned closer to me, their curiosity piqued.

"What do you think it'll be?" Naruto whispered, his eyes wide with excitement. "Maybe we'll get to fight bandits or protect a noble!"

"I hope it's something with a little more action," Sasuke added quietly, though the anticipation in his voice was evident.

I couldn't help but grin. "Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be an adventure. Just remember, no matter what happens, we've got each other's backs."

The boys nodded in agreement, their excitement mirroring my own.
