Money Talk

Days passed by after my last visit to Gringotts. I spent them mostly going to school, doing homework, and practicing morphing, occlumency, apparition, and confounding. I also counted the remaining coins I had in my pouch. There was 3792G inside it. So, it appeared that I scoped out about 4062 G from my fault that day. After extracting the yearly 2500G fee, the remaining amount currently inside it should be 13438G.

The yearly fee will be automatically deducted from my vault on May 5, which was the day I made my fault.

This week I plan to see my CSB manager to see how my investment goes and ask him if he knows any property around Charring Cross. I will buy one muggle house under Mortiss' name. After that, I will withdraw 71 million pounds, 5104 kgs of gold, and all of my silver bullions (37,144 kgs). All will go to Gringotts to be converted to galleons, except the remaining 1 million, which I will bring for personal safekeeping.

It is great that my money pouch could be shrunk to be inside a small pendant of my newly acquired small necklace. I will stop by the bag store in the Diagon Alley later to see if the shopkeeper could help me enchant the necklace to stick to my body under every circumstance, and only I could access it, with a fee of course.

On Thursday afternoon after class, I go to CSB to acquire my money, gold & silver. There I put all 70 million, 5104 kgs gold, and 37144 kg silver inside the previously folded trunk, and 1 million pounds inside my pouch.

The manager is, of course, confounded to smooth things over. After that, I ask him if he knows any property around Charring Cross and he said he knew someone who wanted to sell his house due to him going overseas for his new job.

So, I ask him to look into it for me and if it's good I'd like to buy it at the next meeting when I would bring Ms. Sally along to get started on the orphanage's investment.

At this point, the amount of muggle money I have in my Credit Suisse account is 352,388,067 million pounds and 1000 kgs of gold. The details of my money are as follows:

- Initial amount from lottery prize: 579,989,567 million pounds

- One-time deduction to open 2 accounts in Credit Suisse: 1000 pounds

- Yearly fee for both accounts accounting for 250 pounds each = 500 pounds

- Price of gold and silver = 55,000,000 million pounds

- Donation to orphanage and investment account = 1,500,000 million pounds

- Early withdrawal for Gringotts = 100,000 pounds

- Seed money for investment from the investment account = 100,000,000 million pounds

My investment is coming along nicely, but I decided to leave it be for now. I haven't gone through any of the profits yet as I am developing some headaches now. Who knows that having lots of money gives you headaches too? *sigh*

After everything is done in the CSB, I go to Gringotts as Mortiss, and enter Gringotts as Lana. There, I change all of my 70 million, 5104 kgs of gold, and 37144 of silver to galleons. The goblins deem my bullion to be up to their standard, as expected from Credit Suisse, and they proceed to change everything I ask them to. They are surprisingly ignorant about the money I possess. It's kind of concerning, even though it works in favor.

Oh well, whatever. To each their own poison.

After the goblins finalize everything, including the legal documents, I am a proud owner of a sizable vault in Gringotts. The detail is as follow:

- Initial value is 13,438 G

- Amount from additional 70 million pounds converted into galleons with a conversion rate of 5 pounds per galleon = 14,000,000 G

- Amount from 5104 kgs of gold into galleons = 12,760,000 G

- Amount from 37144 kgs of silver going into sickles = 371,440,00 Sickles, then converted into galleons = 21,849,412 G

- Total amount of galleons inside my vault = 48,629,412 G

I decided to have around 500,000 G in my money pouch for safekeeping. I don't want to keep going to my vault to get money. Contrary to popular belief, house-elves can't access our vaults in Gringotts. So, any withdrawal should be completed in person.

The goblin then asks me if I want to have my own personal financial manager with a monthly fee of 80 G. It turns out that Gringotts provides a financial manager to whoever has > 35 million galleons if they wish.

Gringotts itself does not provide services other than lending vaults, money changers, and 'lending' some goblin-made goods. But the financial manager could act on the behalf of their client to invest in some companies, place orders for properties, and so on.

Well, because I have nothing better to do with my money, I readily agree. I ask my manager (the name's BloodFangs) to invest in 15% of the shares in both the Nimbus Flying Broom Company (500,000 G) and Firebolt Flying Broom Company (450,000 G) as they will go big in the future.

It turns out, the Firebolt Company has already existed, though very small, and is still in the development stage. I also ask BloodFangs to get me some rare books and grimoires, especially on healing, mind arts, and soul magic. Out of all the academic subjects of Potterverse, these 3 intrigued me the most.

I also ask him if he knows any flat in Diagon Alley and a house in Hogsmead that I could buy. I'd like to purchase some along with a house elf or two.

BloodFangs promises to get in touch with me after he has any information that I requested by owl mail. To which I told him that I don't have any means of Owl Mail communication at the moment. So, he gives me a box that could help us correspond. It is like a small vanishing cabinet.

After everything is settled, I go back to my orphanage to rest after a quick visit to the bag shop to enchant my necklace. I paid 10 G for his service.

*sigh* Dealing with money is exhausting. *sigh*
