Sirius Black

Looking at the Marauder's Map, Scabbers was asleep on Ron's bed. So, I asked Jelly to transport us there. I did not bring a rat cage with me, as this was a spur-of-the-moment thing.

With a flick of Jelly's finger, we are inside Harry and Ron's room, the first-year Gryffindor boy's room. Not to waste any more time, I stun Scabbers 3 times using stupefy and 1 time using petrificus totalus. Then, I levitate him inside my robe pocket. One minute later, we are back in my room.

Inside my room, I quickly move him to the floor. I am not a fan of rats. They make me feel squeamish.

I ask Jelly to find me a tiny rat cage that fits Scabbers. In the meantime, he's just there on the floor while I get ready for bed.

When Jelly comes back, he's bringing me a cage fitting for the rat. The bars are very narrow, and the space is just enough for him to wiggle a bit. But not anything else. He would struggle just to eat. It's perfect.

While still unconscious, I force him to change into his human form. The spell is Mutare retro (read: change back). I know it from one of the advanced Transfiguration books I bought.

When he's back in human form, I search for any wands from his body. I found 2 of them inside his left pant pocket. One was a black wand, and the other was a long pale one. The black one should belong to him, while the other one was Voldemort's. I put Voldemort's inside my trunk (in the secret compartment) together with my dagger. After finding nothing else, I force him to change into a rat again: derivare ad rat.

I put some anti-apparition, anti-portkey, anti-change back, and anti-escaping wards into the cage. Then I stupefy it one more time. There's nothing like being too careful.

I am thinking of sending him to Sirius Black in Azkaban. I feel like he would love to have Scabbers.

In the third book, Hogwarts was swarmed by Dementor because Black was believed to want to kill Harry there. But instead, in reality, he was looking for Scabbers. If I could give him the rat, even escape, I hope Black won't go looking for it at Hogwarts. He would reach out to Harry, yes. But not directly go there.

I don't want any dementors near me, thank you very much. Besides, Black could get himself a trial to clear his name with Scabbers. Considering he doesn't kill the rat first. Also, I could ask him favors by giving him Scabbers later.

Yes, that's what I would do. hehehe *evil laugh ensues*

I write a letter to Sirius explaining the situation. At this time of day (2.30 AM), the guards should be asleep.

'

Dear Sirius Black,

I am glad to inform you that I have, in my possession, a rat animagus who should've not existed. The rat has a missing toe. If you know what I mean. I believe that you want to have it? If you do, I want you to return the favors later in exchange for him.

With this letter, I'm sending you a messenger box. It is a type of instant communication system. Inside, there are a wand, a bread, and a fountain pen you could use.

I would need your confirmation by no more than 30 minutes after this letter arrives. Simply state your answer on the back of this parchment and put it inside the box.

Yours truly,

S.V.

P.S. You could use the rat to clear your name. Just saying. And the wand belongs to the rat.

I bought 2 pairs of messenger boxes from BloodFangs earlier this year. They are dang useful.

I give Jelly the package and ask him to deliver it to Sirius Black in Azkaban. I also told Jelly that Black is sometimes a black dog, so if he sees a dog in one of the cells, it's him.

House-elves could go anywhere, even Azkaban. Jelly told me that one of his house-elves friends was ordered to deliver mails there by his master. I am guessing that people just assume that sane people/creatures wouldn't simply go to Azkaban willingly.

But they don't realize that some of them could simply be ordered to do it. It was wrong of me to ask Jelly. But honestly, I don't really care. If Jelly can, why do I have to?

Jelly's gone to deliver the package.

Thankfully, he's not gone for long. Ten minutes later, he's back. When I see him, I give one of my chocolate frogs for him to eat. He looks a bit pale but otherwise healthy and sane.

Jelly told me that he gave the package to a black dog in one of the cells. When he was in the cell, the Black dog was awake. So, he just left the package near the dog and disapparated.

Black sure is fast. Not even 3 minutes later, there was a letter inside my box. It says:

"YES! Give the damn rat to me."

I happily pack the cage containing the rat into one of my ordinary sling bags. It is charmed with a water-resistant spell. I figure he would need it for his escapade. Then, I give the bag to Jelly to deliver it to Sirius.

Jelly's back within 5 minutes. I give him another chocolate frog and order him to rest for the remaining day. I would give him that.

I could eat Hogwarts' food for a day. I heard most of Hogwarts' elves are already pretty clean nowadays, compared to a year ago.

After Jelly's gone, it was already 3.15 AM. Without further delay, I drift off to sleep. It's been a long night.

*sigh*

A/N. I didn't give the rat to the DMLE because my character doesn't want to be bothered with it. It's none of her business what happens in the plot, so long as they don't hinder her goals. She cares to exterminate Voldemort because he threatens her peaceful life. But others she doesn't care. Sirius could deal with him if he wishes to.
