A new life

Ginny didn't say anything, she simply walked closer to Leilani and closed the door behind her. Seeing that she was approaching her without saying anything, Leilani knew that Ginny was here to create trouble for her. She was going to harass her just like those guards and make fun of her like those young misses of the capital who once rushed to suck up to her. She clenched her fingers and glared at Ginny like she was an angry and scared cub that had no other way to defend itself. " Are you here to mock me? Point your finger at me and say how I was a fool that I should have listened to your father and let go of the Crown prince when he told me to? Huh is that it, this is the reason why you are here right? You find me pitiful right? Do you feel sorry for me? Then let me tell you I don't need your pity! I regret doing so many wrongs for a man like him but I do not regret loving him, it was my choice that's why I am not pitiful!"

Listening to her rambling, Ginny raised a brow as she gently smiled and peered down at Leilani with her multicoloured eyes. "I indeed find you pitiful but I am not here to mock you, I do not have extra time to waste it on you, if I did I would have done something much more useful."

All the traces of anger and panic vanished from Leilani's face as she stared at Ginny with her mouth gaping open. " You…You can talk? Seriously…you can talk but you were a——"

Ginny swept down and pinched Leilani's face stopping her from saying the word 'mute' thanks to her mother and her mindless antics, she had to live a life like this being taunted and disrespected by the ladies of the capital. " Yes, I can speak," she spoke ever so slowly like she was casting a magical spell causing Leilani to go all mystified and silent. " Not only can I speak but I can drive you mad or maybe show you the most beautiful world that you wanted, that you are craving for at the moment."

As Leilani continued to gaze in Ginny's eyes, she lost herself in them. It was like she wasn't looking at those beautiful green eyes that she loved and adored but the gates of heaven. There she was dressed as the Empress with a beautiful crown on her head, two lovely kids were running around the garden of the Empress's palace and next to her sat the man whom she loved and hated, looking at her with eyes that were filled with so much love that she never saw before.

" But—-" but then her beautiful dream was broken when a melodious voice rang in her ears and she was back to her reality. There was no crown prince, no children and she wasn't the Empress but a prisoner, robbed of her powers and discarded by the crown prince.

" It will be such a shame if I were to drive you crazy," said Ginny as she pulled herself away from Leilani. " You are much more useful when you are in all of your senses, I would be truly upset if I lost this chance to get you on my side."

" Siren," spat Leilani glaring at Ginny with a hatred so familiar that she knew who Leilani was seeing. " That's what you are."

" that's right," nodded Ginny as she straightened up and wiped the dust off her dress. " I am a siren but don't look at me like that, I am different from her, and even if you don't want to admit the Crown prince would have still abandoned you without that woman trying to interfere in your matter."

Leilani gritted her teeth, though she hated to admit it. She knew Ginny was right, she tried to suppress her anger as she glared at Ginny and asked, " So what does a siren wants from me? After all, Godly creatures like you do not need puny humans like me right?"

" Do not try to test me, Leilani," said Ginny as she met the glare that Leilani was aiming her way. " You might hate my kind but you cannot forget that my father was the one who tried to warn you about the greed of the crown prince but you ignored it. Though one of my parents is indirectly the cause of your destruction, you have to remember that one of my parents tried to save you from falling into this pit as well."

" What do you want?" Leilani sensed that Ginny was here because she wanted something from her, she straightforwardly decided to discuss the matter instead of going around in circles.

" I do like that straightforwardness of yours," mused Ginny as she smiled at Leilani, though it was true that Leilani became a blind fool because of love, she was still the wisest witch of their Empire. Since Leilani didn't want to run in circles, Ginny too decided to cut straight to the chase and spoke, " I want you to heal my father."

There was an awkward silence before Leilani burst out laughing. " And you said that you weren't here to mock me?" When she saw that there was nothing but sincerity in the eyes of the latter, her smile fell and she somewhat embarrassingly said, " You have come to the wrong place. Look at me, my mana core is shattered and I can't even do simple magic as breaking these shackles that are binding me in this horrid place. How am I supposed to treat your father, if you want to get a solution for your father's curse then you should try to talk it out with the Duke of Terranova."

" If I could I would have already done that, do you think that the duke would me a small daughter of the count?" said Ginny. " And I don't have much to offer to the duke anyway….unlike my mother I will not sell myself."

Leilani's lips curled at the defiant glint in Ginny's eyes. "Let's say I do treat your father then what will I get in return?"

" A new life."
