The Haki

Shun and Yami walked out of the school gate after arguing for 15 minutes since Shun didn't want Yami to come with him, but in the end, he couldn't do anything.

As they were going out, a girl was waiting for them.

"Sun Ting!?" Shun exclaimed. He was shocked to see Sun Ting leaning on the wall and was waiting for them to go out.

"What are you doing here?" Yami commented casually. He thought that she was there to pick a fight with Shun.

Sun Ting glanced at Yami but ignored him. Her focus was on Shun.

"I am Sun Ting from Guardian Squad of the Defender base. I'm here to accompany you to the base."

Shun was speechless and was suspicious of her actions since she was a Legend Rank Combatant and was tasked to accompany him, a Warrior Rank.

"Okay," Shun answered.

Sun Ting started walking away towards the base, and both Shun and Yami followed behind her. The walk was totally silent and awkward.

Yami, on the other hand, was bored. He couldn't open his inventory, or he would look crazy by hand gesturing in the air. Yami peeked at Sun Ting, who was grumbling.

"Are you here to escort Shun?" Yami asked to break the ice.

"Ha!? I'm not here to escort him. I'm here to make sure he won't escape," Sun Ting stated and rolled her eyes. "Why are you even following us?"

Yami just shrugged and ignored her.

"I won't escape," Shun firmly stated.

"Do you think I will trust someone who violated the rules?" Sun Ting snapped back with a glare. "Don't think highly of yourself."

Sun Ting turned around and started walking. Her mind drifted to what had happened that day.

"Do we have to go back to that argument?" Shun sighed. He had gotten tired of Sun Ting's repeated phrases.

"That Raider's body was killed in one clean attack. Using a rookie vessel while trying to avoid being killed is impossible. I can't believe it," Sun Ting added and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Well, you deserve a bit of praise for doing an impossible work."

"No, I don't -"

Shun couldn't continue speaking since Sun Ting resumed talking about her opinion.

"But even if you were not there. Our Squad can wipe out the Raiders in one click," Sun Tung argued. She still couldn't let go of her pride.

"You're wrong," Yami butted into the conversation. "I have been with Shun after he saved me. Still, students remained in the hallways while trying to escape when the Raiders reached them. They would have died if Shun had waited for your Squad to arrive."

"Tsk, don't interrupt our conversation," Sun Ting glared at Yami.

"I can't believe you would choose to let those students die for your own pride. You should be grateful for Shun," Yami shrugged. He was amused at Sun Ting's hard-headed attitude towards Shun.

"I didn't say that!" Sun Ting yelled. She was starting to get pissed over Yami's words.

"Ying! Stop it," Shun pulled Yami behind him to protect against Sun Ting's wrath. "She's a Legend rank Combatant."

"I don't know about those ranks," Yami beckoned and looked away.

Sun Ting gritted her teeth in anger and had the urge to slap Yami for being rude to her. She took a couple of deep breaths before calming down.

"Listen here, there are four Combatant Ranks in the Defender base. The Legend Rank is at the top of the chain and consisting about 30 people. Next is the Master Rank, consisting of about 100 people, and lastly, the Warrior Rank, which has more than 500 trainees waiting to be an official Combatants," Sun Ting explained and felt proud that she was a Legend Rank.

"You only said three Ranks. Where's the other one?" Yami asked while counting the ranks on his fingers.

"The Mythical Rank, those are above Legend Rank," Shun whispered.

"It's like an S-rank?" Yami nodded his head and watched as Sun Ting fumed with anger. "Then, Legend rank is not the top of the chain."

"You!" Sun Ting raged in anger and started yelling at Yami. "What is your problem!?"

Yami didn't answer and ignored her as they continued walking. That was when Yami saw something crawling on the grass, similar to a snake.

[SOUL BEAST: OPHI]

[TYPE: SPY/PATROL]

[ABILITY: CREATING PORTAL]

"Oh, a portal maker," Yami muttered and watched the Ophi crawl away. Since there was no quest for him, he didn't do anything, but he knew a portal would appear sooner or later.

"What is it, Ying?" Shun asked Yami when he noticed that he had stopped walking.

Before Yami could answer. A loud alarm rang all over the place, and a black portal appeared not far from them, but this time, it was bigger than the usual portal size.

(Attention citizen: A portal has been detected in the city. Please make proper precautions.)

[SOUL BEAST: HAKI]

[TYPE: CANNONADE]

[ABILITY: BOMB/SUICIDE]

[LVL: 5]

[HP: 500/500]

A gigantic soul beast appeared from the portal and hovered around the sky. It looked similar to a carp with a wide mouth that contained the orb as its eyes.

Yami's mouth hung open upon seeing the soul beast. He was amazed by its features and size, unlike the ones he had fought.

"A Raider!" Shun yelled upon seeing the soul beast.

The soul beast Haki hovered towards the city market where many people are located. Screams of fear started echoing as they ran for their lives.

Shun pulled Yami behind while Sun Ting was busy looking at the soul beast.

"Ying, what is that?" Shun whispered.

"Haki, a soul beast that specialized in bombing," Yami answered while looking over his screen.

A loud booming sound was heard when soul beast Haki released its carried bombs attached to his body. Destroying everything on its path.

"What kind of Raider is that!?" Sun Ting yelled and started running in the direction of the soul beast.

"Ting, wait!" Shun yelled. He was concerned about her well-being since they hadn't seen that kind of soul beast before.

"We can't wait for the other Combatants, Shun. We must take care of it on our own," Sun Ting stated and looked intently at Shun.

"Soul On!"
