Training Part 2

After running 3-4 rounds around the training ground, Blake stopped and tried to cover his hands with his soul spirit, which happened instantly. He was also able to take it back into his body without any problem.

"See I did it in one time." Blake said looking at Harold who had a frown on his face.

Harold walked closer to Blake and took his wrist in his hand.

'Even after running so many rounds, his heart rate is still stable. How is this even possible? Looks like I need the help with some equipment to do this exercise again.' Harold thought.

"Blake come with me to the equipment room. We need to perform this exercise in a controlled environment." Harold said and led Blake to the equipment room which Arya and Simon had shown Blake a few hours ago.

As they entered the equipment room. Two people one man and a woman walked toward the gate. The man had short black hair and was clean-shaved. He had a lean body and was wearing a type of red and blue gauntlet on his left hand. The woman had long blonde hair and square spectacles. Though she was in her 30s she had an immature air around her and she kept on adjusting her specs. The man and bowed to Harold, and said "Welcome to the equipment room Lord Harold, How can we help you?"

Harold nodded at them and then looked at Blake and said "This is Kevin and Maria. They run the equipment room and much of your controlled training and tests will be done by them."

Harold then looked at Kevin and Maria and said "Prepare a treadmill for him Kevin and Maria strap a heart rate and blood pressure monitor to him. Make sure that you use a military-grade mana counter as well."

The expressions of Kevin and Maria were normal for the first few seconds but hearing the last one made them widen their eyes. Then they both looked at Blake.

'A mana counter and that too military grade? This kid has awoken his soul spirit just a day earlier. His mana with shows a negligible reading on a normal mana counter. A military one won't even register him as having mana as its minimum limit is close to the maximum limit of a normal one.' Maria thought.

A mana counter is something that detects the amount of mana in a person's body and also how it is moving in a person's body while doing different activities like meditation, running, fighting, sleeping, etc. The minimum limit of a normal mana counter is 10 and the maximum is 1000. The mana in someone who has just awakened is between 7-15. And this is why machines aren't used after awakening to test the amount of mana. So little mana can only be sensed by a soul master. Now what Harold wanted was a military-grade mana counter whose minimum is 900 and the maximum is 10,000. The mana counters above that are special grade and catastrophe grade which cannot be bought and are only available to certain organizations like the government, the church, and some academies.

Seeing Maria in a daze Harold coughed and said *cough* "We do have military-grade mana counters in our storage, don't we?"

Maria quickly came out of her daze and in a flustered expression said "N-No sir. I-I mean Yes sir, we do have it in our storage. I will get it out and running in no time." ran inside the room.

Kevin looked at the running Maria and chuckled. He then looked at Harold and said " Harold I apologize for her behavior. Just this morning she was saying whether she will need to even use military-grade equipment until the kids graduate from primary academies."

Harold smiled and said "Kevin we have known each other since we were kids so why did you call me lord in front of her?"

Seeing Harold talk with one of his employees in such an informal matter surprised Blake a little.

Kevin shrugged and said "This is her first week here and even though she is the love of my life she needs to learn how to respect and treat her employers. She is a good nutritionist and has hands-on experience in handling military-grade machines so I don't think you will need to worry about such things. She can even repair them. Her soul spirit is Blueprint and it lets her see the complete layout of anything she touches.

Hearing this Harold was very impressed and said "Wow, I am surprised that those government agencies didn't snatch her."

"Let's just say her family is deeply rooted in the military and pressuring her is not something they can even authorize. And Maria doesn't like to live a chaotic life just like me so I brought her here. Let's talk about that some other time. Let's get you strapped to a treadmill little soul master."

Harold looked at Blake and said "Blake, Kevin, and I are childhood friends. His father is our clan's treasurer and his mother is the most senior healer in this city. Go with him he will set you up."

Blake nodded and followed Kevin to a corner of the big room and on the way he saw many pieces of equipment. Some had screens while some had weights attached to them like a typical gym. As they reached the corner of the room they saw three treadmills. These treadmills were silver in color with a black running belt and a 40-inch screen in front of it.

"Blake you can get on the treadmill then I will strap you for safety." Kevin said.

Blake was about to step on the black belt when he heard the sound of a trolly from behind him. As he turned back he saw that Maria was pushing a big machine which had many wires and a monitor attached to the top of the machine. The machine was in shades of army green color.
