Mark walked out of his room after freshening up and he went downstairs for dinner.

He wore a plain white shirt and white shorts combined with his white inner slippers.

He looked fresh and young, full of a youthful vibe.

"Mum!" He called out when he saw an elderly woman with a stricken resemblance to him.

"Oh son, come here. How have you been" Mrs.Elen raised her head at her son and flung her arms open for an embrace

"Fine mum" He didn't mind it though, and so he went into her embrace and sniff her perfume

"Naughty boy, how was the school today was it good?" She patted his heart loving

"It was..super cool, mum and I had a great time in school" He hesitated a little and lied at the end

"That's my son" She chuckled lightly and gave out a fonding smile when she saw his childish behavior

Being the only child in the family. His mum spoilt him to the root that he doesn't mind being called a mummy pet.

But his dad a retired soldier was totally against it as he said " A man must not hide under a woman's embrace but stand up like a man and hug with his solid body instead"

He rolled his eyes childishly anytime his father ranted on these words but later in the evening, he will be the same man begging for his wife to embrace him.

He shook his head and suppress the laughter that was building in his mind.

"*cough, excuse me ma'am the dinner is ready and the table will be arranged in a second" An irritating voice brought him out of his thoughts and he couldn't help but glare at Mr.bean and curse him inwardly

Why do you have to come at this moment of peace!

Mr. Bean suddenly felt a chill from nowhere and he frowns in response

He glanced at his surroundings and his eyes subconsciously landed on a pair of ice-blue eyes that were glaring at him in displeasure

Mark snorted coldly at him and broke out of his mum's embrace. He walked towards one of the chairs and sat on it, pretending like nothing ever happened.

Mrs.Comfort watched in amusement as the two battled with their eyes and she couldn't help but let out a small smile on her pretty face.

"Go bring the food Mr.Bean don't mind Mark's behavior" She waved at him unhurriedly

"Yes ma'am" Mr . Bean raised his chin at Mark mockingly and returned to the kitchen

Mark"..."

Old man why are you being cheeky.

Mark forgot the issue quickly as his eyes stared at the mouth-watering food served at his front.

There's no harm in eating this food right?

Salad, grilled meat, and some delicious vegetable soup

Oh, at least he forgot. He applied some cream on his face that covered some of his bruises and he applied some light makeup else his mum would have noticed that something was wrong with him.

" Eat well son" Mum smiled at him and filled his plates with lots of vegetables and meat

"umm," He nodded frantically and munched the food.

"Careful, haha" she laughed, then she remembered something and asked," I didn't see Luis around today? had he gone home early "

*Clank

Mark dropped his fork unprepared and choked on the meat ready to pass his throat. He gulp a mouthful of water and answered "cough, he left early to do something important"

"Careful before you hurt yourself, ...it isn't a serious answer but yet, you were shocked that your face turned pale" She touched his cold hands worriedly and sigh when she heard Luis left early

"Too bad, I wanted that young man to have dinner with us" She murmured sadly

Mark"..."

He felt guilty for some reason but he didn't say anything to lighten the atmosphere.

Soon he remembered something that happened during the morning and he couldn't help but ask " Mom what was that thing you gave me this morning to give sir Leon"

His mum stared at him in confusion for some moments but soon her eyes widen in surprise and she answered" Oh, son I completely forgot about it. How was It, did you deliver the package safely "

"yes mum I did, and he was thankful"

"oh, that's good. Well that package was wrapped with an antidote inside" She answered rigidly

"What kind of antidote," he asked even though he knew why

"Son, this might come as shortcoming news to you. But recently a disease has been killing a lot of people and nowhere is safe again as everyone feared that they might get infected if they near anyone" She explained

"Since you delivered the package safely I'm grateful, son" she added and focused on her food

Mark knew that he won't get any information so he focused on his meal too and the rest of the food was eaten quietly.

"Ah that was delicious" Mark sighed as his body landed on his bed

"yep" Alia agreed and burp along the way

"So you ate some" he questioned

" Yep" She answered and landed on his lap

He thought and brought out his phone from his pocket, he opened his text chat and sent a message to someone.

A few minutes later there was no response so he decided to call.

He called multiple times but Luis never picked up the call.

Sigh!

He called the last time and this time the call when through

"Hello Luis I know you..are..angry..at...me?" He chocked on his words and felt his heart pounding when he heard the moans coming out from the other line and a female voice calling out the name that he was never there to call lightly
