I like you

When Joo Ah got there, Kay was treating a patient so she was told to wait for him in his office. While Joo Ah was in the office, she took her time to look around but she wasn't looking for anything in particular.

While looking around, Kay walked in and kept staring at her.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you so early".

Joo Ah turned around and for a split second, Kay looked totally taken away. Joo Ah smiled and waved her hand.

"Hi, I'm sorry I came earlier than planned. I just didn't want to keep you waiting".

"Well, I'm grateful that you had me in mind".

Just as they were speaking, someone came in and it appeared to be the lady Joo Ah saw the other day and today, she looked even more dashing.

Joo Ah instinctively looked at herself and looked at the lady again but just then, she realized that the lady looked uncomfortably familiar.

Joo Ah went closer to her and the lady was looking at her as though asking what she was doing with her eyes.

Kay was looking at both ladies and since he wasn't expecting Joo Ah to act that way, he also began going closer just in case she acted rationally.

"Joo Ah?"

"I....I know you".

The lady smirked and said.

"Yeah yeah, I get that a lot. Why? Do you want to get close to me?"

Joo Ah raised her head and then her brows as though she was asking what type of nonsense it was that she was saying.

"Why would I?"

"Well, because I'm pretty and I'm rich".

"Okay, that's enough".

Kay said and came in between them.

"Joo Ah please wait outside for a little while".

Joo Ah totally ignored him and looked at the lady again.

"It was you, you were the one who grabbed me by my hair at the mall. It was you Shin Suri beat up. You are the not so famous Li Sina aren't you?"

"Wait, you guys know each other?"

Kay asked but was completely ignored.

Li Sina's eyes opened wide as she pushed Kay aside and went closer to Joo Ah.

"You...you look totally different".

"You don't say".

"Look, about that day, I'm really sorry. I was totally out of it and I acted like a total jerk".

"You don't look or act any different".

Li Sina chuckled and bent her head a little.

"That day, you looked like a scaredy cat".

"I was just getting used to being around people like you. But now I think I have a hang of it".

Joo Ah wasn't showing any emotion but it was obvious that she didn't like her at all. Li Sina wasn't expecting anything more from her since she knew she was totally out of place that day.

"Can I buy you a meal?"

Li Sina asked but Joo Ah said nothing. Kay who was being ignored came forward to clear the uncomfortable air.

"She's right Joo Ah, let's grab an early lunch".

Joo Ah turned to look at him with a face still blank.

"I'm going home".

Joo Ah said and walked out. Kay looked at Li Sina and she raised her shoulder up like she was saying 'don't ask me'.

Kay ran out of the room to catch up with Joo Ah and when he finally did, she finally had a little expression on her face and it was definitely not one showing happiness.

"Hey, you can't just leave like that. We were supposed to hang out today remember?"

"You have company and that, I won't like to disturb".

"It's okay, Li Sina is a friend, she'll understand".

Joo Ah wasn't really in the mood to do anything anymore but she knew she couldn't go home without any information. Not only would Shin Suri kill her, but both Jagi and Shin Suri would also make crazy fun of her.

"Let's grab a cup of coffee, I'm cold".

Joo Ah said and began walking out. When they got to the cafe, Joo Ah ordered two shots of espresso and Kay had an americano. They sat and for a while, they obviously didn't know what to say to each other so Joo Ah took the opportunity to bring up the topic.

"So, why didn't you go with Lu Jinho".

Kay smiled.

"That's the only thing you can think of? Why? wouldn't you have missed me?"

'Why is he trying to change the topic?'

"That's not the point, I just wanted to know why you didn't go with them".

"Well, for a start, I have a job and secondly, I can't fight. I'm a doctor remember?"

"Wait fight?"

He smiled and continued stirring his drink with his straw it was obvious he was trying to hide information and Joo Ah knew she couldn't push it.

"If only that girl didn't show up".

She said in a very very low voice.

"Huh? What did you say".

"Nothing".

She said and smiled.

"You know, I wasn't expecting the day to turn out like this. You aren't even asking me who she is to me".

Kay said with his face facing his drink. Joo Ah looked at him and wondered where he was going with this.

"Well, you said she is your friend. I don't think I have the right to pry into your personal life".

"Why?"

He asked and raised his head. Joo Ah definitely knew there was this expression in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat but she didn't know what it was exactly.

"Ehm, just because..."

"I like you Joo Ah".

Joo Ah's eyes opened wide and Kay smiled.
