The next thing the angels saw were two large angels coming at each other with full force. The impact of their collision created a large bang that shook the pillars of the arena making the angels gasp in shock and fear. Michael intended to make the first move by swinging at Lucifer's face but Lucifer was already ahead of him. He blocked his arm and gave him an uppercut, sending Michael flying to the other side of the arena. Some angels winced at the impact while Gadreel and Adriel smiled subtly. There was no way Michael can beat Lucifer, he was going to die at the end of the day.

Michael stood up immediately much to everyone's surprise. He had collected a lot of blows and hits from Lucifer before so he was used to it. He didn't really have a plan other than to try to hit Lucifer as hard as possible to weaken him, but even that seemed impossible because Lucifer had never shown weakness. He was so engrossed in his thoughts, he didn't notice that Lucifer was running towards him. Before he could dodge his attack, Lucifer had punched him against the pillar he rested on.

Michael's ears were ringing, and he got irritated by the gasps of the angels that watched in horror. Lucifer attempted to hit his head but he blocked it quickly, and swerved positions so Lucifer was against the almost destroyed pillar. He then unleashed a series of blows on Lucifer's head and the pillar shattered under the impact carrying Lucifer with it. Michael used the opportunity to walk away from the scene and regain his strength, at least what was left of it. Some angels were watching him in admiration, a little sense of hope built inside of them. Michael too had a little confidence in himself. If he could do this to Lucifer? There was limit to what he could do?

Once again, he was caught unawares by a flying angry Lucifer on the air. The anointed cherub came for Michael's throat and they both fell to the floor, hard. Lucifer dragged Michael from his neck on the floor while yelling in rage. Michael was helpless, he didn't know if he should try to protect his head or try to remove Lucifer's hands from his neck. After a while, Lucifer threw him on the air again but this time Michael steadied himself and came for Lucifer with full speed. He was able to hit Lucifer to the ground and hit him repeating the same thing he had done to him.

Lucifer growled and kicked Michael in between his legs, making him stumble off him. While Michael was trying to steady himself, Lucifer got up and dusted himself. A smirk appeared on his lips. He knew Michael would put up a fight and not disappoint him but now it was time to be serious, no more games.

With his hands at an unusual position, he conjured up a sword from mid air, shocking everybody. Michael had recovered from his terrible landing and his eyes widened when he saw the sword in Lucifer's hand. The latter threw the sword to him and cocked his head to the side, amused. Michael's gaze wandered from the sword to Lucifer's face and back. He clenched his fists, unsure of what to do with the sword on the floor.

"Well". Lucifer said. "Pick it up".

Michael walked closer to the sword, his eyes fixed on Lucifer's in case he had something sinister planned. When he got to the sword, he picked it up and pointed it at his former master.

"Where's yours?" He asked. Lucifer smiled at him.

"Oh right here". He said before he kicked the sword off Michael's hand and send his leg flying to the side of Michael's belly. The angel groaned in pain as he staggered back. The sword fell to the floor in front of him. Lucifer kicked it closer to Michael.

"Come on, pick it up". He said again with a sadistic smile. Michael rushed to grab it, but Lucifer stopped him by kicking his jaw and his head faced the sky.

"You have to be faster than that". Lucifer teased. Michael grunted. For some reason, Lucifer had refused to wound him fatally until now. Every part of his body was hurting and this didn't happen before when Lucifer threw him into a pillar.

Michael kept getting mocked by Lucifer for what seemed like several hours. Whenever he got close to the sword, Lucifer would kick him in the most excruciating way. The angels that watched would wince at the sound of the impact of Lucifer's feet. Finally he stopped, Michael was unable to stand and small grunts came from his lips. Lucifer's expression was blank now as he stared at Michael. He would have been merciful, he would not have had to kill him if the maker did not say he wanted to give his position to him. He refused to have anybody share his power not when he wanted more. He refused to be ridiculed.

"I should spare you, but I don't like competition". He said to Michael. Michael stared at him with pleading eyes.

"I am begging you to stop this". He said. "You don't have to do this".

"Oh but I do". Lucifer replied to him before coming close to whisper in his ear." I want what he has, I deserve it, I should be the one who sits on that throne". Michael glared at him.

"You will never be worthy of that kind of glory". He replied. Michael had succeeded in distracting Lucifer and he had already taken the sword that was on the floor. Before Lucifer could do anything, Michael stabbed him. Then there was silence.

The whole heaven stared at the two angels, waiting for the larger one to fall in defeat. Lucifer's head faced the ground after the sword thrust through him but he did not turn to dust. Michael stared in horror and so did the other angels when Lucifer raised his head up, laughing.

He pulled out the sword from his abdomen and examined it.

"I thought you'll know when I pull out one of my tricks". He said to Michael still laughing. Michael stared at the sword and his eyes widened in realization.

"It's an illusion". He whispered to himself. Lucifer nodded while laughing. He stood up and walked towards Michael.

"It didn't work on me because I conjured it but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work on you". He said smiling. Michael panicked.

"But it's not real". He said. Lucifer's smile widened.

"It's not but it can do so much harm". He then thrust the sword into Michaels arm and left it there. The shout of the angel filled the whole arena sending shivers down the spine of all that listened. Lucifer once again bent down to his ear and with a smile on his face, he spoke out.

"Well, you know what this means". His smile widened. "I won".
