The voice that called out needed no introduction. Both Adam and his wife stood still with their eyes wide opened and their hearts beating fast.

The voice did not call again and it didn't need to, Adam knew that if this were some other day he would have answered the call in a heartbeat. But this was not just some other day, this was the day he had done the unthinkable. He kept staring at his wife and she did the same, the grapes had fallen off his hands out of shock. After a while he then took in the appearance of the female. His eyes widened.

"You're naked". He whispered. The female nodded.

"You too". She replied.

"We can't see him like this". The woman nodded again in agreement and looked around frantically. Her eyes landed on the fig tree nearby and she pointed at it.

"The fig leaves". Adam looked at them puzzled.

"Yes?"

"We'll cover ourselves with them". She explained.

"Oh. Yes, yes let's do that and quickly". They ran quickly to the tree and plucked as many fig leaves they could, then they made aprons out of them and covered themselves with it. Then the voice called out again.

"Adam. Where are you?"

The female nodded slowly to Adam as a sign of support, the latter took a deep breath then raised his head to heaven.

"M-my lord. I am here". He said. There was a silence in heaven for a while and it made them both very anxious.

"What took you so long?". God asked. His tone was the same as always, very calm. It didn't seem like he knew what they had done.

"I--I heard your voice in the garden my lord". Adam replied. Another silence, Adam clenched his fists. He wouldn't give anything away.

"And?"

Adam's breath hitched.

"Uh…I was afraid".

"Since when?"

"It's not you my lord". He quickly said. "It's just that I was naked and so was my wife, we--I didn't want you to see us this way. It's a bit embarrassing".

Another silence engulfed them. The female came to hold the hand of Adam but shockingly to her, he pulled away and glared at her. She was taken aback and she moved farther away from him.

"Adam". God called.

"My lord?"

"Who told you you were naked?"

At this time, Adam felt as if his heart had jumped out of his mouth. He looked at his wife who had her face on the ground in shame. It was obvious, he already knew.

"I--"

"Did you eat the fruit of that tree I commanded you not to ever eat?" God asked. The calm in his voice is what made Adam even more frightened. When he looked back at his wife, she wasn't even facing him. All at once, an overwhelming feeling of shame and anger took over him. He turned sharply to heaven again.

"How is this my fault?!" He yelled and pointed at his wife. "The woman you gave me was the one who ate the fruit first and she was the one who made me eat it in the first place".

This accusation made the female to raise her head in shock. Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly but she could not say anything. Adam was out of breath by the time he was done speaking and just like the other times, God did not speak immediately.

After a few minutes of pure silence, His voice echoed again.

"Woman". He said. The female faced heaven in fear on the verge of tears.

"What have you done? Where you not present when I gave you an order not to eat of that fruit?"

The female was quiet for a while, she looked at the sweaty back of Adam and she frowned.

"It wasn't my fault either. There was a serpent and he made me eat the fruit, he told me I could be like you". She said.

"A serpent you say? You mean this serpent". As he said this, the same creature that appeared to the female surprisingly appeared near Adam. He backed away in fear and stood near his wife who was also looking at the snake in shock.

"This is the serpent woman?" God asked. She nodded in response.

"Speak to it". It was a short command but one the female could not ignore. She came close to the serpent and crouched to its eye level.

"Uh…tell me the very thing you told me before". She said to it. The snake looked at her for a while with its forked tongue hanging out every minute, then it raised its head and hissed very loudly at her. The female backed away from it, the tears welling up again.

"No. No. It talked, it spoke to me for a very long time. I remember it did. It deceived me, it's not my fault". As she spoke, Adam came close to her and put his hand on her shoulder in an awkward manner. The female jerked away from his touch.

"You both just reminded me of someone I used to know". God said in a calmer tone.

When the snake hissed again, it suddenly started choking on its own.

"You made yourself available for deceit and because you have done this, you are cursed above every animal that would walk this earth and upon your belly will you crawl as from now on and you will eat dust for the rest of your life". There was another pause. "I will put discord between you and the woman and between her seed and yours. It will bruise your head and you shall bruise it's heel".

Immediately, the snake started to turn around like it was in pain and slowly, the legs that were visible started to disappear under it's belly and soon the snake was lying flat on the ground.

The hisses became more vicious than before and when it looked at the female, it came for her. It could not get to close because God killed it by drying it up.

"Woman". God spoke." I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception. In sorrow will you bring forth children. Your desire would be unto your husband and he will rule over you".

The female then started to cry out loud.

"Adam, because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate the fruit which I commanded you not to eat, I curse the earth for your sake. You will eat in sorrow for the rest of your life, you will eat the herbs of the field and thorns and thistles will it bring to you. You will sweat before you will eat until you return to the ground where you came from. You are dust and unto dust will you return".

Adam could not speak, neither could his wife. He couldn't even be angry, he didn't feel anything.

"Adam".

"Sir?". He replied in barely a whisper.

"Walk a few steps from here, you will see coats of skins. Use it to cover yourself and your wife properly".

Adam walked to the location quietly and picked up the coats prepared for them. He wore his and draped the coat over his wife as she was still on the ground.

"Adam".

"Yes?".

"Take your wife from the ground, walk towards the forbidden tree. Behind it is a golden gate, open it and leave".

Adam's eyes shot up to heaven.

"What?" He asked.

"Leave the garden with your wife Adam". God said. Just then, the whole sky seemed to darken earlier than usual. God was done speaking to them and it felt like it would be the last time he ever will.

Adam looked at the sky closely and he saw two bright lights coming with unusual speed into the garden. He ran back in fear and covered his wife.

The two flashing lights landed on the ground and Adam's eyes widened. Right in front of him stood two large golden creatures, none he had ever seen. Their appearance was frightening and beautiful at the same time, he knew that whatever they were, God created them too and they were ten times more powerful than he was.

One of the creatures raised its hand and pointed towards the forbidden tree, Adam understood clearly. He had sent these two magnificent creatures to escort them out of the garden. But why? Did he not hate them?

Adam took his wife by the hand and attempted to raise her up but she refused.

"No". She whispered in between sobs. Adam sighed.

"Get up. We are no longer welcomed here, he has decided to spare us now so let's leave while we can…Eve". The female's eyes shot up to him.

"Eve?". Adam smiled..

"Eve. You are the mother of all living things. So Eve will be your name".

"Oh Adam".

"Let's go". Eve nodded and stood up, hand in hand they walked towards the gate that came into clearer view as they got closer. As they were about to cross the forbidden tree, Adam's eyes spotted an even larger glowing tree opposite their location.

"What is that?" He didn't know when his legs started to move towards that direction until one of the creatures grabbed him. He felt a jolt of energy flow through him and he gasped and turned. The creature shook his head slowly and led Adam back to the path.

A little farther from where they were, other spiritual entities watched as Adam and Eve, first humans on earth were sent out of the garden of Eden. And one especially watched with a huge smile on his face.
