"Hmm….."
Starting from the main panel, Seth discovered his name was registered as Rhazien Az Mor. It was better that way. Seth didn't want anyone to link him to his in-game persona.
The next detail after that was his level.
"Based on the information in my head, the level system is quite complicated. Ahh… let's see." Seth scratched his head as he dug deep into his mind.
"Ahan! I got it!"
The system recognized players as travelers. Each traveler was gifted the ability to absorb the souls of anyone they killed. Through the help of a mystical power bestowed on the travelers called the Soul Slate, the souls of their victims get processed into EXP. When the required number of EXP accumulates, the traveler would level up.
Each level would increase the traveler's stats based on their race's attribute allocation.
Seth would not pretend he understood the level system, but at least, he grasped the surface concepts.
"You kill. You level up. Simple as that." Seth wrote in his book.
Of course, there was also one key factor; the level range of the target.
If the target is in a higher level range, then the traveler would reap more EXP upon killing the target. If the target's level range is lower, it would be the exact opposite.
"Ahh, I will brainstorm that later."
Moving on, the next detail was the Race. It mainly presided over attribute allocations and skills.
While Seth's race was a vampire, it was more than just that, since there were all kinds of vampires. Rhazien Az Mor was a vampire from the Morgen Clan, and so was Seth.
Next was his class- Basic Traveller.
"Ohh, the System Guide has little information on classes. Apparently, I have the only class available for new travelers. The other classes would unlock after I reach the second level range."
Following that were the titles. Titles are honorary names that denote the unique status of the holder. It could either increase the holder's attribute or simply uphold a ceremonial value.
Seth's two titles were ceremonial in nature, adding nothing to his attributes.
The first title explained his vampiric status. Being Rhazien, Seth was the son of a nobleblood of the Morgen Clan and a low-tier demon. This led to his impure lineage. It was the exact reason he failed the Baptism and was given a fatal punishment.
"Well, that is a story for another day."
The second title- Beta Traveller, covered his status as the first group of players in the game.
"Heh, I can see the game expanding further after the beta run is over, but this means that the game is not yet perfected, and we are doing its trial run."
"F*ck! That explains why I was almost killed the moment I entered the game."
The next detail was the traits. The supernatural characteristics of the holder were tied to their existence.
[Vampire] Trait covered the characteristics of a morgen vampire. For instance, [Persuasion], [Supernatural Senses]. All the characteristics of a vampire hid in this trait called [Vampire].
[Traveller] was simply the ability to absorb the souls of his victims and process them into power. Also, it came with other hidden characteristics that were managed by the system.
"What about this ST? There is no information about it, except that it is called Sors Token." Seth jotted down what he could find.
As he was done with the main panel, he moved on to the attribute panel.
This one was easier to understand. Strength is physical strength. Agility is speed. Constitution is the physique and health of the host. Wisdom measures one's perceptiveness and intuition.
Apart from that, it was stated that there were other hidden attributes, but it was too early for Seth to discover them.
Stat potions were a way to increase the attribute of the host. When the traveler wills the potion to appear, they can drink its content and imagine the attribute they want to increase. That was all it took.
Moving on to the skills panel, Seth found out that passive skills were similar to [Traits], except that they were gained through external means. Meanwhile, Traits are inherited.
Active skills defer from the two, in the sense that active skills had to be "activated" via a psychological command or physical command.
Seth's [Vampiric Drive] needed him to force all the energy in him to explode into a giant, ravenous rage. He had to think of doing that before the skill could come into effect. While passive skills and traits need no activation, they were always in effect.
"Finally, I'm done with the basics. I need a break." Seth sighed.
He could feel a headache coming his way. Processing too much information at once is never good for the brain.
Seth walked out of his room and went to grab a drink. He later came back with a bottle in his hand. "Ahh, that feels better. Hmmm… what else do I need to think of? Well, that would come later. Right now, I have to meet 'them'."
Looking at his mirror, Seth saw the reflection of a pitiful man. Unlike the appearance of Rhazien Az Mor, which was like the radiant green moon, Seth had a reckless appearance.
His beard was all over his face, unkempt to the extreme. His wavy black hair looked like a used mop on his head. It had been months since Seth had gotten a new haircut. His choice of clothes was even way worse. He wore the same set of clothes every day.
Seth gazed at his reflection and became disgusted. "Perhaps it's time I stop doing this to myself."
He admitted he had gotten the whole self-punishment wrong. Making himself irrelevant in the world was not the right way to go. It was an escape. Something he disguised as a form of punishment.
"Now that I have Rhazien's memories, I see I was wrong all along. I need to get my sh*t together."
Compared to Seth, Rhazien was a true gem. He was an impure nobleblood, but that didn't stop him. Every day, he trained for his baptism. His success in the baptism would guarantee his family a spot in the higher echelon. Yet, he failed, but he still thought about his family as he took on the entire punishment his family received for failing to provide a nobleblood or ascended vampire.
"Hehehe, he only lacked strength…. Hmm!"
Seth entered his bathroom to clean himself. His mind still wandered around as he brushed his teeth.
"Oh god, how could I forget?!"
There was a reason Rhazien had no memories of foulbloods and the discrimination against their elven heritage. The game world was immensely vast. The limits on its universal structure were incomprehensible.
Where he was right now and where he came from were two separate locations. Rhazien came from the Realm of Tascar, a mythical location filled with demonic-aligned races like vampires and werewolves.
Based on his memories, his current location should be in the Realm of Lycroft, which was known for its mixed inhabitants. Many races interacted in this realm, but that was not the main issue for Seth.
The main issue was the implications of being a vampire in this game world.
Unlike the other races, all clans of vampires were cursed. They could never wield magic, the omnipresent force of the world. The only way to bypass that was to undergo the baptism and attain arcane magic, but that door was now closed for Seth. The Blood Pool, which handled the baptism, only existed in the Realm of Tascar, the home of vampires.
"Rhazien saw the true nature of The Pit, a failed Blood Pool. Using his memories, I could recreate another Blood Pool, but it would take too long." Seth muttered as he stepped into his shower.
"I have to find another way or I would have slow growth. F*ck! For now, I will have to focus on completing my awakening as a vampire."
After he was done in the bathroom, Seth left his condo and drove his car towards a location that would clear his mind
