'Choose one side, is it?'
Looking at the two contrasting locations, Seth shook his head. It wasn't hard to make a decision. One side appeared peaceful and heavenly, while the other side was too negative for anyone to consider.
A smile found its way to Seth's face as he thought, 'A vampire is a creature of darkness. What a joke to tempt me with peace?!'
Amidst the awe he had for the flowery location, there was also a profound vexation that prickled his skin. Such was a vampire.
Things associated with light repulsed them!
Seth began moving. With each step, he increased his pace. His mind couldn't be more clear as he had already settled on a decision.
'I choose death!'
Once he crossed the veil, solemnity returned to his soul. He could feel a warped form of peace wrapping around him, but he loved it.
There was only darkness in this space, a comfortable kind of darkness that existed only at the bottom of the abyss.
'This is what I want. I am at peace here!' Seth declared.
A wave of hands gripped his body and pulled him down. One hand punched through his body, bringing a burst of pain that Seth would never forget in his entire life.
Seth didn't fight the hands of death. He merely allowed them to rip him apart like a frail piece of paper. Dissolution seemed to be his fate, but he was not distraught.
When only a wisp of his soul remained, Seth took his last sigh. 'I hope I made the right choice.'
The cold air of the hands grazed. It was a sign that the hands had banded together to deliver one final brutal tear. That was the last thing Seth remembered, not the pain that followed it. He was in complete dissolution!

"I'm back!"
He was in the inn room. "I survived…? I survived. F*ck, yeah!"
After success came the celebration.
This was a saying on Earth. Seth stood up and danced around for a good two minutes. He later realized that he was dancing to no music. Even his movements were immensely embarrassing. It was better that no one saw him in this state.
"Well, f*ck it! I survived. That's all that matters. I don't care if I'm dancing like a worm—"
From the corner of his eyes, he spotted his reflection in the mirror. Seth's mouth gaped as observed his ridiculous action.
"-On second thought, I better stop. This is embarrassing."
It was rare for him to be happy, but he knew when to stop.
Seth lightly coughed as he reevaluated himself. "Well, nothing changed in my appearance. But my body feels more powerful. Every one of my attributes has been strengthened. There is also a strange feeling I can't shake off. It's like there is something more than attribute enhancement!"
Seth tried everything to expose the origin of this sensation, but nothing worked.
"Going at this pace, it would take me months to discover what's wrong. I guess I can only rely on that. [Status]!" Seth shouted the command word with confidence.
This was a vast change from the previous attempts. He always held a cringed expression when he spoke the command word. In a way, he has adapted to being a traveller!
"Hmmm…"
Nothing happened after his confident words.
"[Status]!" Seth commanded again.
"...."
Even after five minutes, there was no reaction. No panels whatsoever or blinking lights.
"[Status]!"
"..."
"[Status]!"
"...."
"Is this f*cking shit broken?" Seth wondered.
『... Traveller Unknown cannot be found in the database. Searching… Searching done. Traveler's profile has one match. Does Traveller Unknown identify himself as Traveller 2.5?』
Seth responded, "Yes."
『... The issue has been identified. Soul wavelength was altered. New soul wavelength remains indistinct. Traveler 2.5 has found a bug. Bug 'Sudden Transformation'.』
『System 200 has updated the database and rectified the bug.』
『According to the Rule Index, a reward shall be granted to Traveller 2.5』
『System 200 has designated a reward to Traveller 2.5. Reward: Ten (10) Sors Token.』
『Checking… Checking complete. System 200 has judged itself. Its decisions were fair and just.』
The system's robotic voice assaulted his mind. He could see its visual representation as panels that casually changed to visualize the next statement of System 200.
"This voice sounds familiar. I feel like I have heard it before. Anyway, this is what it feels like to be a beta-traveller." Seth smiled with pride.
A Beta-Traveller's goal was to discover the flaws of the system. So far, he had discovered one flaw, and it was a pleasurable feeling.
"I really do not understand what Sors Tokens are, but if System 200 is rewarding it to me, it must be really valuable," Seth concluded.
He couldn't waste time on things beyond his understanding.
Once again, Seth declared, "[Status]!"
