Can I borrow your wife?

Downstairs

"Jin,"

"Mom? What are you doing here?"

The wide smile on Bong-Cha's face melted instantly. She cupped her cheeks and took a deep breath to console herself. Why should she feel bad when she abandoned her for several months in this condition?

Seeing the sad aura around her, Sebastian tightened his grip around her wrist and when she glare at him, he gave her a nod.

"Oh God, Seb not-"

"Shh, she's your mom, go, welcome her first then you can lash on me for sticking my nose into your business when I haven't solved mine."

Clearing her throat, Jin-joo sighed and took her hand off his before making her way towards her mother who was standing downcasted.

Standing some inches away from her, Jin-joo is pretty good at 'You first' Stuffs. In this case, she's waiting for her mom to take the first move before corresponding.

Tilting her head upwards, when Bong-Cha saw her standing a few mile from her, she sniffed off the tear drops and parted her arms as she made her way towards her daughter.

Giving her a tight hug, Bong-Cha patted her head, "I'm sorry, I was stupid. Those words weren't real, please for-"

Pulling away, Jin-joo shook her head with a wide smile while wiping her eyes with her thumbs. "It's alright, I'm sorry for being a a prodigal daughter."

"Oh dear, please don't say that." Caressing her face, Bong-Cha added, "Who said you've been stubborn?"

Looking at the entrance to the foyer, Jin-joo asked, "Where is dad?"

"Umm...yeah, we'll talk about him later, right? Why don't I take my longtime no see daughter out for a long shopping?" Bong-Cha doesn't want the happiness in her daughter's face to get ruined. Deep down she could read how desperate she is to see her father.

"Shopping? Now?"

"Yeah, don't you-" Looking at Sebastian, Bong-Cha smiled, "Son in-law, would you mind if I borrow your wife for an hour or two?"

Shrugging his shoulders, Sebastian chuckled. "Come on Aunt, you know I have no right to say no to that. But return her on time."

Squeezing her daughter's cheeks, "Now that I have your husband's permission, shall we?"

.....

Amsterdam, NY.

At the bus station.

It's already getting dusk as early as 6:47pm, yet there's no bus around. Ugh, Mabel sighed before checking on her baby in the stroller. He is busy playing with the stuffy bunny.

She glance on her watch from time to time to see how much time has gone out. Few months ago, she moved out of her former place to a serene environment with the unlimited card her son's father gave to her.

Though, it's more like better as the distance from her working place to her new home is not that far. Infact, it's walkable. But strolling alongside with the baby is the worse she could do.

She could testify how broken her body was. Today was a day of fun for her and her little boy 'Bernard.' They visited the park, went for a long walk, got some ice-creams and now they're heading straight home.

Glancing at her watch for the last time, Mabel sighed and was about to move the stroller when a White Range Rover SVAutobiography came horning at them.

For a moment, she thought she might be obstructing the way and slowly moved aside towards the walkway but when it horned the second time, she frowned and wonder who it was. Though, it has tinted windows and whiskey, so she couldn't assume who it was.

Thinking of who it was, a familiar guy came out of the driver's door. He was putting on casual clothes alongside a tinted shade.

He didn't have to take off his glasses before she could tell who he was. Mabel completely pretended like he was a stranger to her not until he took off his glasses and called her name. "Mabel."

Oh dear God, why right now? Is this a stupid fate or what? She has been happy and sour when they moved out thinking she won't see his face again but now he found them.

With a neutral expression, Mabel inquired coldly, "What?"

Ignoring her question, the first thing Liam did was to reach for his son and carried him in his arms. Planting a soft peck on the top of his head, "How are you doing little Liam? Did you miss me-"

Cutting him off, Mabel warned, "He isn't little Liam. My son can never be like you and he will-"

"Can you at least shut up and get into the car? You're talking too loud, couple of people here might think am here to kidnap you and our son. So please help yourself and stroll in." Pausing for a while, Liam added, "Please."

When she did not respond, he folded up the stroller and place it inside the back hood of his car before placing little Bernard at the back seat.

Opening the front passenger door, he raised his brows, "Do you need invitation to get in or just waiting to call the police on me again?"

Staring at him for quite some time, Mabel took a deep breath.
