The Night struck back, the sky was dark and hazy, and the moon was full and shined brightly enough bright to lighten the way for us. It was a peaceful and quiet time, strokes of cold were striking London. London was covered in a blanket made of pure, white, crystal snow. The streets were all empty and filled with fog. A man sat in his luxurious room near the fireplace to warm himself, he felt a presence in his room and turned his face back towards the window. When he looked at the window he saw it open, he was amazed by it nonetheless he stood up and closed the window. The door of his room opened and a man nearly in his thirties entered his room. The man entered inside and closed the door, he was wearing a highly expensive suit and on his wrist was a watch with fitted diamonds, the diamonds gleamed like stars when the bright moonlight from the large window fell on them. The man straighten his collar and stroked his hair. The other man looked at the man entering his room and the vessel in his hands dropped and spilt on his glorious carpet.

"What happened? Did I surprise you?" the man asked in a sarcastic voice.

"Uhm... no not at all" he quickly tried to cover his expression.

"Celebrations await for us my dear friend, cheer up!" the man said joyfully.

"Hmm" he quickly nodded and pretended that everything was fine.

"What happened is something wrong?" he asked while having an angered look.

"Uh-hmm. No everything is fine." He said hurriedly but his face was all screwed up and he tried his best to hide the truth.

"Stop it! Even a blind man can see your shocked expressions. By any chance did the plan didn't work out?" The man said angrily.

"N....No...No," he said.

"Then?" he asked in his sudden calm voice.

"Edmondson-" he hesitated.

"Yes, Richard tell me what happened already!" Edmondson Brown shouted.

"I couldn't-" he stumbled.

"You couldn't what huh?" he asked asking him in an acerbic tone.

"I couldn't kill-" his soul sulked in by seeing the glare of Edmondson.

"Frederick Wilson," Edmondson said in a belligerent tone.

"Yes.. how did you know?" his eyes widened in shock and he asked timidly.

"Ugh! I gave you one task and you didn't even do that properly!" He screamed in frustration and glared at him.

"I tried to but-"

"But what huh? BUT WHAT? YOU INCOMPETENT FOOLS!!!" Edmondson punched Richard hardly which made him fall and his mouth started to bleed.

"Why did we support you huh? WHY?" Edmondson screamed at Richard aggressively and held his collar.

"What are you huh? What are you and your dogs if they can't handle an ordinary man huh? " Edmondson asked him in a disparaging tone while Richard's gaze was continuously lowered in shame.

"I'm sorry," Richard Ross said regretfully while clenching his fist tight enough that his nails tore the skin on his palm and gave him painful cuts resembling the ones on his dark, pathetic soul.

"You're what? " He punched again in his face and Richard spits blood from his mouth.

"Because of you, we are on the brink of death! YOU FOOL!" He shouted at Richard and threw the splendid Italian Renaissance Vase on the floor and smashed it into pieces just like Richard's pride.

"He was not any ordinary man, he had his men with him and they carried heavy arms. Even better than Lorenzo's" he looked up at Edmondson with an unpleasant expression and his heavy voice was filled with vindictiveness.

"What do you mean? Edmondson abruptly asked and his eyebrow raised.

"He knew that we were going to trap him so he was prepared for it. He stabbed one of my men, and placed his gun at my chest and not for a moment his fiery glare subsided. He looked at me as if he would kill me, I was not able to do anything then. I even sacrificed one of my loyal men but it was of no use." Richard said in a despairing tone.

"No use huh? What else could I have expected from a man like you? The one who was so incompetent and timid and lacked the courage to fight his opponents by himself. What a pathetic loser you are! I pity you." Edmondson said in a judgemental tone and smiled at him sarcastically.

"I tried my best but he is not an easy target to defeat," Richard explained.

"Nobody is a difficult target for Edmondson Brown." He leaned forward and said in a deep and arrogant tone deep as the ocean.

"What will you do?" he asked while his eyes rounded up.

"I would find him and kill him. Do you know his residence?" Edmondson asked.

"No, but he did give me this address to meet him at." He showed him the paper that Samuel gave him.

"When?" Edmondson frowned.

"Tomorrow early morning." He said.

"Good, that place would be made his grave tomorrow," Edmondson said in a careless tone and smiled sinfully.

"How will you do that?" Richard inquired.

"You will go there as he said, and lead my men too. You will try to take as much possible information as you can, just to be cautious. You have to take in him full trust and then we would stab in his back and rejoice on his flesh." Edmondson said while his eyes were filled with evilness and he had a wicked expression on his broad face.

"What?" Richard's jaw dropped by seeing his attitude.

"You don't agree, you have a death wish?" the death glared at him.

"No, I mean yes I do agree. I will do as you say."

"Good for you. " Edmondson was about to leave but instantly warned him and said,

"Any other foolish mistake will cost you your life, understood?" his glare gutted his soul, Richard's eyes widened, his lower lip trembled and his hands started to shake, fear took over his entire body.

"Y..ye..yes." He stammered.

"Hmm."

Edmondson affirmably nodded and went outside while smashing the door behind him furiously. Richard sighed in relief at his departure, as if a severe storm has subsided. He sat on his bed hopelessly and lied. His soft feather-like bed was a hard rock for him, he gulped as if he has gulped a cactus and closed his eyes to calm himself down.

When he opened his eyes, there was darkness everywhere. He panicky and searched for a candle, suddenly someone gave it to him.

"Thank you, Ronald." Richard took the candle from that person and searched for his lighter but the person lit it up for him.

When the candlelight made some visibility in his room he saw before he was a boy wearing an entire black attire and hiding in the shadow of night. The window behind the boy was wide open, the cold winds were entering the room and freezing the droplets of sweat on Richard's middle-aged face. The boy was wearing a skin-tight black suit, his half-charming face was covered with a black silk bandanna only his ocean blue eyes were evident to be seen, and his silky golden hairs were moving with the direction of the wind. The bright moon was becoming covered in dark and dense clouds, the lightning stuck in the sky and for a moment the entire town gleamed showing the boy's presence in front of Richard. The boy was holding a dagger in his right hand, and the silver dagger shined in the lightning. The boy leaned forward and smiled at Richard.

Richard's eyes widened in shock, his forehead furrowed in confusion, his eyebrows waggled in fear, his mouth hardened in a hard line, the colour drained out of his face and terror took over his entire body. He quickly dragged back onto his bed while clenching his bedsheet tightly, in fear. The boy walked forward towards Richard, only his loud footsteps and Richard's tumultuous heartbeats could be heard in the entire room. Richard kept staring at the boy, he was drowning in the ocean of fear. The boy came forward and stood by his bed, Richard froze.

The boy suddenly placed his shiny silver dagger on Richard's thick and wrinkled neck. Richard's eyes widened in shock and his jaw dropped in fear. Boy wide opened his ocean blue eyes and stared into Richard's soul and said in a low voice like a whisper but loud enough for Richard to hear and hold his heart that was about to burst in fear back.

"Who are you?" he asked curiously.

"I'm sent here to warn you." He said in his deep tone.

"Huh?" Richard frowned.

"You can think of me as a well-wisher, for now, an angel or a devil." He said in a honeyed voice and took his dagger away from his throat and walked into his room.

"What do you mean? Who sent you?" Richard said in a breathy tone.

"Someone you betrayed and stabbed brutally in the back." He said in sotto voce vocal.

"Who?" Richard asked in a tremulous voice.

"You would better know that than I wouldn't you?" he asked him while walking into his room and touching his expensive decoration pieces.

"Frederick Wilson?" he said while his eyebrows raised and shock was evident in his tone.

"You are a wise man I see, then be wise enough to understand this warning and avoid doing this." He walked near him and played with his dagger.

"What warning?" he asked in a frightened voice.

" Your death warning, I will be your death if you betray Frederick." He suddenly picked his dagger from the air and placed it on his throat and glared at him.

"What do-?" he asked while his eyes widened and his voice was trembling.

"Don't you dare back off again or put Frederick's life otherwise I will come again and take your soul with me!" he said while gritting his teeth gravelly.

"What?" he said in a wheezy tone.

"Mark my words." He warned him in a tuneless voice.

"But who are you?" he asked while his lips trembled.

"I'm...The Night Shadow. " Lightning struck behind him and within a moment he flashed before Richard's eyes. The blackout ended and his whole room lit. He panted heavily and went near the window to see where he went. He couldn't see anything because of the fog, he yelled,

"RONALD!"

His bodyguard came in rushing and asked,

"Sir are you ok?" he asked abruptly.

"Catch that." He pointed out from the window.

"What sir?" he asked in disbelief.

"CATCH THAT JERK WHO CAME INTO MY ROOM. SEARCH FOR HIM EVERYWHERE." He shouted angrily.

"Sir but nobody entered your room I was guarding it the whole time." He replied with a worried expression on his face.

"Huh? But he jumped from this window." He said while having frowned expressions.

"Sir it's not possible, if he would have jumped our guards down there would have caught him by now." He said while proving.

"GO CHECK YOU JERK!" he shouted at Ronald out of frustration.

"OK... Sir, I will." He said and went outside frantically.

"Where did he go?" He hit his hand on the window sill in frustration and anger and looked out from the window.

"Huh? What Knight? Who night? What are you saying?" Edward asked in a curious tone with a frown expression on his face and his eyebrow raised.

"There he is the Night Shadow." Samuel pointed at his entrance door. The door opened and a man was entirely covered in his coat, muffler and hat. The man came in and hung these on the coat, he dated his coat and straightened his collar. He entered the room wearing a black suit, white collar shirt and green tie while putting one hand in his pants pocket. He waved at both Edward and Samuel Then he averted his gaze towards you.

He smiled at you politely and asked in his deep tone softly,

"Remember me huh?"
