Humanity has achieved faster than light travel. Cyran is one of the engineers working on board one of Earth's ships.

'Love?' Kara stumbled and fell from her bed. What are they accusing her of?

'You love him, don't you? That's why you keep going before him, like some sort of guard dog.' the apparition smirked.

Time by time it became dark, sort of opaque, not see-through anymore.

'D-dad? Stop it, you're scaring me too much!' she yelled.

'Kara dear, you do realize I'm just stating the truth. Love is a parasite. Once it leeched on you, it won't let you go unless it wants to. and when it does, it will leave its scar here. If you try to take it yourself, you'll only bleed more.' he replied coldly.

'My dad doesn't talk like that.' she yelled.

She dizzily stood up, but her legs were shaking and weren't quite in balance.

'I'm not in love, and definitely not with Cyran.'

'I wish I never loved your mother. Then, I wouldn't have to deal with her or you all my life.' his eyes grew colder and darker.

'Yo-you're not my dad.' she wept, tears flowing down her cheeks.

'You make such poor choices, and never let anyone in your heart. You always go with your heart. I'm pretty sure your heart already accepted him that my words or anyone are fact will go from this ear to that.' he pointed to his ear.

She stood up again but crashed her table by doing so.

'What's that noise?' she heard her mother's voice from the front door.

She opened it and looked at her with those same cold eyes. Cyran stood beside her, hair half-burnt, probably from another of his 'failed tries'. Only he didn't have that demeaning look.

'You know what dad? you're right.' she sighed.

'I don't think you'd ever love me, I don't think mother will ever love me, and that's o...k...' she tried to run towards him but slipped from the curtains on the floor and fell through the window.

There was a crash followed by a thud.

Cyran ran after her but failed to catch her.

They both looked at a fallen princess, her life fading away slowly as she looked one last time at the wimp.

'I guess I do love....him.' she smiled and closed her eyes.
