Slaughtering Demons

A cylindrical frame with the width of the whole of Quartez shot beyond the clouds.

As it did, mana in the atmosphere was being sucked in, sent down upon the barrier like rain drops.

Each drop made the barrier a tiny bit brighter.

With so many drops at once, the barrier brightened at the speed of the naked eye.

Absorbing mana from the surroundings would do good in the short term, but it was unsustainable for the long term.

Eventually, the mana in the surroundings would thin out, and the absorption rate would dwindle.

In hindsight, absorbing from the atmosphere made for a far better idea.

Like clouds, atmospheric mana would be constantly replenished, allowing for a steady stream of mana ready to be absorbed.

Zydrax groaned, feeling the heart faltering as he replenished his mana reserves to the fullest.

The troops below were also energized, having recovered their mana completely, they were bursting with energy.

Energy Zydrax was happy to help them spend.
