The scape

The Marked Ones were led in chains down a rocky stretch. Black mist danced around. The mountains loomed above them. According to Eris, the plan was to abandon them in the middle of nowhere, to their fate, without the Treasures. At the mercy of monsters and spectres.

That was a way to kill them, without directly killing them. Eris was not capable of killing and perhaps neither were his subordinates. Igneous watched every move of the captors intently. Looking for an opportunity to escape.

'There are three men in front,' thought the boy, seeing three of the captors on the backs of the lizards. Then he looked over his shoulder. 'And there are four men behind.'

Seven men in all. Some humans, some demons.

'If each of us attacked one, we would be outnumbered,' the boy lamented.
