The Lakelands

A day's walk, more or less, and The Marked Ones reached the land of the lakes. If only that area wasn't filled with black mist, the landscape could be seen better. A layer of dark mist covered the crystalline waters of the lakes and prevented us from seeing how the sun reflected on the surfaces of the bodies of water.

The surrounding mountains had their tops covered in snow, while the foothills were an earthy color, like gray mixed with brown.

"We're here, guys!" Igneous exclaimed, jumping up and down. "We arrived! We are here!"

The cold wasn't as intense as Igneous thought it would be. The wind chill was within the tolerable level. And everyone seemed to feel that way, except Nahuel. The boy was shaking a lot and hugging himself. Yaima looked at him as if she wanted to tell him 'do you want a hug?'

"Hey, Elian," Nahuel said. "Can I borrow your sweater?"

"What?" Elian opened her eyes. "No, no way, then I'll be the one who's cold."
