Wyatt’s POV
The battlefield had been set. Every piece was exactly where it should be. Purebloods and shifters waited as the moon rose. The only remaining variable was Bernardo. And how many wolves he had turned.
He checked in with Tanner and Edgar from the villa. Everything seemed to be in motion, and all was quiet. Eva had sent most of the staff home for their own safety, but there were a few servants that wanted to stay.
Now it was a waiting game.
Wyatt watched intently as Priscilla turned into a stark white wolf. The werewolf was submissive, rolling onto its back as soon as it had hold. It displayed itself eagerly, exposing its belly and demanding attention.
A wave of relief washed over Wyatt when he realized his mark did completely overwrite Bernardo’s. He didn’t know exactly what would happen, or how the white beast would react to its sire, but one thing was certain.
The matebond was stronger than a one-sided claim.
