Chapter 120 You Will Have To Get Past Me First
Ye Sijue was concerned at Mu Xia's worn disposition. "Are you alright?"
Mu Xia responded in the negative even though she was a little short of breath. "I'm fine. Combining needling on the head with that on the body will produce the best results, so I must continue."
With that, she produced a handful of silver-plated needles from the pouch and removed the patient's shirt so that she may begin to place the needles sequentially.
Compared to the initial placements on the head, the rapid pace at which she worked on the body was so many times faster that all Qin Ranfeng could see was the trail of her right hand.
Before he could catch the sight of her hand in full, a total of twelve silver-plated needles had already been jabbed into eight acupoint located throughout the man's body.
Qin Ranfeng gasped in astonishment, "This speed… How long have you been single, Ms. Mu?"
That drew a quizzical look from Mu Xia.
Qin Ranfeng giggled nervously. "Uh, never mind. How long do they need to stay on?"
"Thirty min…"
Before she was able to enunciate "minutes", Mu Xia's strength deserted her. Her vision blackened and her entire body slumped backwards.
"Look out!" Ye Sijue rushed over and was able to catch the fainting woman in time, and discovered that her body was clammy when his arm accidentally came in contact with her neck.
"Dr. Jian!" Ye Sijue shouted while he lifted up and carried Mu Xia over to the hospital bed.
Jian Ke Laosi was taken by surprise as well and hastened over to check on her.
An unsettled Ye Sijue asked after a series of examining. "How's she doing?"
"It was nothing serious. Just exhaustion. She should be better after lying down for a while, but I could get the nurse over to put her on a drip if you are still worried," Jian Ke Laosi replied, looking a little more relaxed.
"Then hurry."
Jian Ke Laosi grunted in acknowledgment and hurried outside, only to crash head-along into Luo Yi who was coming in from the opposite direction.
"Ouch…" Jian Ke Laosi groaned while he rubbed at his head.
"What are you in such a hurry for?" Luo Yi barked in displeasure.
Before Jian Ke Laosi could answer, Luo Yi had already spotted Mu Xia lying in the one bed, and the foreign man with needles in his head on the other.
"How could you let her poke needles into that bugger's head?" he fumed with a furrow before he stormed toward the bed with the intention of pulling the needles off..
"Yi!" The eagle-eyed Ye Sijue swiftly seized upon his hand. "What are you trying to do?"
"What do you think?" Luo Yi's eyes reddened amidst his own consternation. "As if it's not crazy enough to have needles in body, you had to have them in his head as well? Let go!"
Not only did Ye Sijue not relinquish his grip, he went on to hold on ever more firmly.
"Xia said that these need to stay in for half an hour. Dr. Jian has been keeping watch by the side so it's going to be fine. Don't mess this up."
That had Luo Yi scoffing, "Not only was that punk Haoxuan bewitched, and now you too? This is the human head we're talking about! If this continues and that guy dies, how are we to find those who put him up to it?"
The observing Qin Ranfeng could no longer withhold himself. "Ms. Mu has already passed out, Jue'er so I don't think we can count on her to treat the guy any longer. Maybe we should remove the needles as it's kind of creeping me out…"
Ye Sijue remained unmoved as he spat, "Heck no!"
"Ye Sijue!" Luo Yi said in dismay, "You're in over your head and going to ruin everything! Hands off now, or you'll regret it!"
Ye Sijue's eyes darkened. "Not happening. If you want to pull them out, you'll have to get past me first!"
