Kraken's Tricks, Sue's Schemes

Lucien, in wolf form, licked Sue's cheeks before he connected their foreheads. His hot minty breath fanned over her face. Reluctantly, Sue placed her trembling hands on Lucien's face as if she was mimicking him.

'What am I doing?' Sue asked herself. She promised herself that she would never be swayed, especially by men. After all, it was engraved deep in her marrows how vile men could be when they wanted to be. But the ice walls she created around her heart would become as fragile as a wooden plank whenever a certain red-haired wolf beastman would show his sincerity. When did it start?

'Ah, probably when he opened up his old wounds in that dark tunnel. Why? Because I saw myself in him – wounded and alone. And when we are like this, that loneliness seems to fade away.'

'What a load of bullcrap,' a part of herself thought so too.
