The Terin Trial

A wrinkled beastman with wolf ears and tail stood at the podium where five seats were placed. Each seat housed an elder of the Wolf Tribe. Two elders were awfully familiar to Sue Terin; they were the elders of the Terin Clan and the Lupine Clan. The other three, including the one who was standing at the center of the podium, were the elders from the other clans of the Wolf Tribe.

The surrounding people had already taken their seats aside from Sue Terin and Lucien's wolf form.

"You have to step backward, Sue Terin," said the head elder. Contempt laced his voice as his eyes were filled with disdain while looking down at him from the podium. He continued, "The seat of the accused is at the bottom of this courtroom."

Sue crossed her arms. Licking her lips, she said. "Is this how you treat an accused for questioning? Let me remind you in case you have forgotten, old man, I am not a criminal. I am here to be questioned, not prosecuted."
