"You said you did not care, but here you are," said a voice of a man behind a cloaked woman. They were both standing atop a tree's branch as both of their attention was fixated on the manor at the hilltop.

"I remembered when we first met, dear wolf. Long before the beastmen races reined this lands, your kind dwelled the forestry and the striga held dominion over the darkness and not the vampires."

The man stood side by side with the cloaked woman. "Had it not been for you, I could have not experienced the joy of being saved and loved."

The woman turned to the man and was met with a pair of beastly eyes. "Did you regret it?"

A low growl of approval resounded from his chest. "Never."

Upon the man's reply, the woman could not help but revisit a little trip to memory lane.
