He almost choked on his drink before he acted casually right away, “You have a son?” He quickly wipes his cheek with the table napkin. He didn’t sound offensive, but rather surprised.
I nod. “Yeah. He’s six.”
“Wow that’s so cool then!” He exclaims. “You must have been an amazing mom.”
“I try to be.” I smile shyly.
“How old are you by the way?”
The foods were then served one after another and it was quicker than I thought it would be. Ned smiles at the waiters who were serving us and he looked so humble.
“I’m twenty-four.” I answer.
He nods. “You look younger than that. I thought you were twenty.”
I chuckle, “Wow. What a great compliment to hear. Thank you.”
He smiles, “It’s true though. You look young.”
I smile back.
“Your husband is lucky.” He says.
“I’m a single mom.” I confess proudly. “Been raising that kid since he was small.”
“Wow.” He compliments with a wide smile on his face. “I didn’t…. Sorry. I didn’t know.”
